You need a 64-bit operating system to utilize more than 4GB of ram. Go with Windows Vista 64-bit and you'll be able to upgrade to Windows 7 when it is released in October.

You don't need 2x GTX 295 when you are only going to be gaming on a 24" monitor. 2x GTX 275 would be more appropriate.

12gb of ram might also be a bit much unless you do some serious video / photo editing. I'd stick to 6GB and add some more later if needed.

GOOD FRICKIN' LORD!

I don't even know where to begin...

I can't wait for DST4ME to see this.

To save him time, you are definite set on 24" monitor, cause with some cost savings of some of the stuff you can cut out, you could get a 30" monitor.  Not sure why you are going with Windows XP with all that, Windows Vista 64-bit is what you would need.

Are you into serious heavy video editing or something, otherwise your are going way overboard.

Your hard drives are gonna be killer on your work times for seek times and other stuff like defragging.  I believe DST4ME can post a link on how to create your own portable hard drive for a lot cheaper and unless you are doing major video editing, you could get by a lot better with using the portable storage to keep stuff off your main hard drives until you needed.

Last info needed is your budget that you are willing to spend.

what is your ticket number?

do you need a tv card?

do you need a bluray?

do you need a Backup Surge Conditioner?

do you need the benchmark software?

do you need the External Storage?

do you need 4TB of storage? how much files total do you have now?

We would say overkill but that would be an understatement

Kryhavoc says he doesn't know where to begin...I think the starting point might be getting that 2nd mortgage approved Clap to pay for this puppy.  And I gotta agree with Onkel_Ken...after getting everything but the kitchen sink...the last line for t-shirts should have said "yes" too Angry

Please to take "no offense" we're with you--not against you...  And if I haven't mentioned it yet--welcome aboard, glad to have you.  It's just that you brought a smile to a couple of our faces...remembering the thrill of wanting it all--and getting it delivered too.

DST4Me will help you work out the kinks...and (minor) areas of overkill...and when you're done you'll have a lean, mean, machine--and enough money left over for that 30"+ monitor that Kryhavoc mentions.    Ermm

OK,               Ticket Number: 316849
TV card,
Blue Ray
Surge Conditioner
Benchmark Software
External Storage
I guess can go, I was kinda just trying to cover all bases, Although I did want to have a second optical drive as backup.
As for the storage space, I have leftover harddrives laying around that are full of pics, videos, movies etc.  I seem to never have enough space, and yes I know I was going overboard on the storage, but I wanted that jump anyway.  I figured tuck it all in the pc.
If thats too much on the pc, I am open for suggestions
A 30 " monitor, I wanted but was not too sure my eyes could adjust from this thing I now have.
Oh,   Windows Vista,  for what I now have SUCKS,  I have a few Norton products that are ( govt.  issue ) and would not work on Vista, no program upgrades avaliable to me now.  I don't want to part with them.  If I thought they would work on Windows 7, I might would give up Win XP.  Guess I will anyway if I really need to.  What are your thoughts on this.
By the way, Thanks to everyone now for your input.  It all helps.  This is a big leap for me, and yes, in the end I will order the shirt too,

edistoriverrat there is nothing wrong with vista, if you need help to find your way around it we can help you but there is nothing wrong with vista, also like to pointout to you that norton is not one of the best av's around but even tho it works on vista perfectly, you just need the version that works on vita 64bit.

if you are going to get xp then you may as well not get this pc cause you will not be able to use all of the resources of this pc with xp, it can't see and use no more the 4GB of total ram., the gpus we give will have close to 3GB of ram alone, you will be left to operate with 1GB of ram for everything else, which basically means your pc will not be able to do nothing.

get yourself one of those 3 or 4 slot external enclosure and put 4TB of HDD in there and put all the stuff you have laying around in those.

so you said you wanted a 30" monitor then here is a system that will run a 30" for you in gaming:

Here you go Ticket# 317163 --- Price: $6821 (To see this build click here) Price after current promotion $6321
