    Posted: 28 Aug 2022 at 4:49pm
So, I've been using my RTX 2080 TI for sometime now, and it has finally died. I'm looking to buy a new GPU, but cant afford 1,000 buck on a new 2080 TI, and I see the new Gen GPU's are going down in price. Any advice on what GPU I should get? I'm looking for one that is as good as my 2080 TI was, just not so pricey, around the $500 to $600 range, and maybe a bit more, all depends. I can use AMD and NVIDIA.
Thank You For The Help

From what I can tell, a RTX 3070 will give you about the same performance. New Egg has them for about 550 to 650, depends on brand.

Nomad is right. The RTX 3070 has performance that's similar to that of the 2080 Ti. The 3070 is just a tad slower, but probably not enough to notice.

I will second the RTX 3070 suggestion.

Another purchase option to consider is direct from EVGA. The sales/discounts fluctuate frequently, especially recently, but if you keep an eye you could catch a big one.

As of this writing, the RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra is marked at $600.

With the new cards  coming to market soon, there are some very attractive offerings to get rid of current inventory. EVGA posts sales all the time. Somewhat upsetting to see the real low prices if you bought a new card recently (like I did) but.....you can get some good deals to replace your 2080Ti.

Good luck.

Corrected error.

There was a leaked internal email from NVidia about 6 months ago or so that was talking about the surplus they had back then and withholding release to take advantage of the higher prices the market was showing. They seem to be releasing them now because of the upcoming 4000 series cards.   Greed. It is all about greed.
