now for dual boot, don't partition a drive, give each OS independence and so give each their own HDD.

for OS HDD go with 2 x 150GB digital Raptor or 2 x 300GB velociraptor.

if you gonna spend that much money, its a shame to cut out speed that the Raptor can add to your system.

Please think long and hard about this

I also recommend going with 790i mombo.

yes I forgot to tell you that Acronis true image does a great job of cloning disks which is what I do so in case anything happens to my OS, I can

a. just pop in the clone and pick up were I left off

or

b. use the clone to make another clone and then use the 2nd clone as my current drive and maintain the original clone in the other drive, in case something goes wrong.

If you think you gonna fill up those 2 Raptor in the future then go with the 750GB for backup, but if you don't think thats gonna happen then go with the 500GB HDD.

If you got the money, if may suggest the best idea:

HDD1: RAPTOR OF YOUR CHOICE FOR VISTA 64BIT

HDD2: RAPTOR OF YOUR CHOICE FOR XP 32BIT

HDD3: 500GB HDD FOR MEDIA/PERSONAL FILES

HHD3: 750GB OR 500GB FOR BAKCING UP HDD1 & HDD2.

Your thoughts?

If you wanna go with ESA, you need an nVidia mobo, however, if you wanna have the ability to go with crossfireX, you need the X48 or a mobo with AMD chipsets. To find out what is compatible with ESA I would recommend calling DSO. To get a good overview of the DS 950Si case, it is the Silverstone TJ-09. You can either go to www.silverstonetek.com or check out newegg. Both sites will have good info and pics.

I think those who are looking at new pcs and not willing to try Vista 64 will be disappointed later when they realise that Vista 64bit would have allowed for more ram usage and better graphics cards system compatibility.

Yes vista 64 is good, unlike xp 64 we have been able to get many things working on there and we can help you disable a few thing in it if you like so you don't get the nags about your permission all the time

here is the pics for HAF case, its hell of a case:

have a look at it here

have you tried cloning?

with Acronis cloning you don't need Acronis to restore, with image shadow you need image shadow to restore right?

single loop is one circulation so everything is running off the same line, thus more you have the higher the temp of the liquid

double loop is 2 circulation, say one for CPU and one for GPU.

double loop has its own radiator

overkill and waste of money:

Power Supply: 1200W Thermaltake (Triple and Quad SLI Compatible) (Toughpower Edition)

not needed, to loud and much more heat for you.

System Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz OCZ Platinum Edition

too fast and over your fsb = waste and not used, match your ram with your cpu's fsb

Extreme Cooling: Liquid Chilled FrostBite CPU & Dual Video Cards

not needed and waste of money, all you need is the single cpu liquid cooling I picked for you, teh rest is a waste of money, the haf has great fans and vents and will keep those cards cool.

you have liquid cooling, OC the cpu and OC the ram. if you don't you are wasting your pc's abilities. that qx9650 is made to be over clocked. "quad extreme 9650", all extreme chips are made to over clock by intel.

Did you mean to bump your ram to 8GB? and if you wanna dual boot with XP and Vista, I'd recommend Vista 64bit. Regarding sound, I personally would stay clear of Creative x-fi cards. There support is spotty regarding compatibility issues with many customers and driver support is slow. The Razer Baraccuda sound card is a better product IMO. If you have the money, the ASUS Xonar D2X is the best pc sound card from an audio perspective. If you do a lot of FPS games where sound cues are important, the Razer is better for you. The Xonar doesn't support true EAX 5.0

Okay, if you wanna utilise more than about 1GB or so ram, you need to go with Vista 64. The vidram and ram share the bandwidth in XP or Vista... so, to get decent ram usage, you need Vista 64. If you ran XP, you would have to first disable crossfireX to get any kind of performance IMO, but it would allow you to run some of the very old games that might not be able to run on Vista. I don't have Vista yet, so I'm not sure how far back you would need to go.

If you're a music lover, audiophile or have sensitive ears, yes. If you listen with high quality headphones, I would recommend a sound card. If you're looking for a place to save money. Drop the sound card hehehe.

Ram and HDD don't exactly exchange in that fashion. Data is initially stored in the HDD and transfers to the CPU where it processes and then the fsb determines where the data goes from there... to the RAM or back to the HDD or elsewhere. The RAM is more temporary data storage and really is constantly transferring data back and forth to the CPU. It requires a charge to maintain the data, while the HDD stores the data magnetically on discs for more permanant storage.

KattsMeow go with 4 GB of ram and make sure you go with ocz, corsair has been crapping out alot.

you keep picking liquid cooling for your card you dont' need that, you only need this:

Extreme Cooling: Liquid Chilled FrostBite CPU Only

I don't know why you want to go dual boot, just go with vista 64

as widdlecat said if you don't need a sound card then drop it, if you like one go with razer
