hi,
Been looking into costing a dual loop liquid cooling setup for a HAF case, w
I7 920 , Classified X58 mobo and a GTX295 with room to add another next year.
some parts i have looked at and need wise water cooling wisedom.
Feser 3/8" tube 8feet - is that enough?
DangerDen MC-TDX CPU block
XSPC Dual Bay Reservoir Pump Combo - one loop
XSPC Laing DDC Reservoir Pump w MCP-350 - two loop
Danger Den Black Ice Stealth 240 Rad - top of HAF
Danger Den Black Ice Stealth 120 Rad x 2 - maybe top + front of HAF?
Coolmaster 120x25mm LED Fans x4
Koolance VID-NX295 Geforce 295 GTX Full card cooling block
Should i have the bigger plump res and rads on the CPU for higher OC's or with the GTX295's i will have?
Ohh do i need a separate loop to drain it someday?
Thanks in advance

3/8" tubing??? need 1/2" I.D.
If you are going to go for black ice radiators, the only models that are decent are the SR1's http://www.dangerden.com/store/sr1-fan-optimized/
A dual rad is not enough in my opinion, triple is minimum for i7, if you are going to clock very high.
a double is fine for a 295, but if you are going with two 295's then a triple or quad would be recommended.
the 355 pump with a good aftermarket top is a great performer. plenty of pump for this application.
for fans go with the Gentle Typhoons, they are very good radiator fans, the speed you need will depend on what radiator you choose, and how much noise you can tolerate. lol

feser's tubes are 3/8 ID and 1/2 OD, with a good pump it should not matter much.

DST, you had a hard week? lol
Need 1/2" feser tubing 3/4" o.d.
G1/4 fittings, so need 1/2 I.D. you can go 7/16 I.D. but it is a very tight fit.

I was thinking fittings, but maybe I'm getting rusty, 1/2 inch is probably best (let me guess fatboy?), but if he wants to use a tube that is 3/8 ID and 1/2 OD then he needs a g1/4 barb that fits that.

3/8" tubing + using the most restrictive rads , is not a very good idea for peak performance.

Its been a while but I reacal reading most stuff that people reproted it does not make much of a difference, I like to use the 3/8 ID feser tubes myself, I'm going with gtx rad myself, I believe that with a good pump the flow rate won't make that big of difference.
I do agree tho 1/2" ID is best, but I just couldn't fine a good uv orange 1/2" tube, dadgum feser is the only one that has it and they only have it in 3/8" ID. |

If you use the Swiftech GTZ along with the GTX rad, 3/8 tubing, maybe 2C you will lose, unless maybe an iwaki pump is used. lol
What rad fans are you going to use?

I'm using a 420 gtx with 3 x 140mm 80cfm fans, and going with Laing DDC-12V 18 Watt Version 3.2 and xspc after market pump head v3.0

Must be around a 1400-1500 rpm fan? Not ideal for those rads, but if the rad is just for the CPU, still going to be good performance, better fans and better tubing will offer a decent temp drop, if you are going to be OCing it very high, but if bellow 4.2Ghz or so, it won't matter, temps will be great with that setup. Are you going to use a fan controller? On my GTX BI rads I get good results with 3000 RPM fans, none of the other rads can touch the GTX at those speeds. lol But that is also on my test bench.

1800 rpm but again I could not find 140cm red led fans, I figure if I'm not happy I will just install some 4000 rpm delta fans in there and see how they do

Thanks much for your help
I was hoping you two experts would give me some feedback.
Well at one time I wanted a very quiet LC setup but I have moved my main computer from the Loft ( near bedroom = sleeping wife ) to the basement next to my servers. So its much much louder down here.
So the noise is not a big deal now.
LC is pretty much the only part of computers I haven't messed with yet, so I wanted to give it try.
I dont want to hang a Rad on the door where else can I put another 3x120mm or 2x120mm Rad?

in the back and one inside the top, I have the same problem, I'm going 1 x 420gtx inside the case on top, and another duplicate rad in the back.
