I have an ASUS P8P67 mother board, socket 1155 I believe. My computer would restart when I tried to play video games. To make a long story short, I sent it to ASUS who said they fixed the issue, just to get the board back 3 weeks later and after a week, Total war Rome 2 is doing the same thing again. I play and it crashes my computer. They said they fixed the bad processor socket , and they had the worst customer service I have ever had.

I am going to just get a new board. I want a motherboard that is equivalent or a little better than this board. My current set up is 4 2gig ram stick, 570GPU, I72600k processor, 700 or 800 w/PSU. What board do you guys recommend for me, & absolutely will not buy another ASUS board. Thanks for all help, it is really appreciated

The hardest part is just finding a P67 based motherboard. NewEgg lists only 5 available all of which are under $100. Amazon has a much larger listing of the P67 motherboards. MSI & Gigabyte are good brands. Look at user ratings to see how well they perform as well as online reviews. Maybe somebody here can recommend one that's still available.

Good Luck!!

Yep, like fstcvc said, the p67 mobos are a bit older and harder to find.  You can use the newer Z77 mobo.  They are 1155 socket and made for the Ivy Bridge 3570/3770 cpus but the older Sandy Bridge, like you and I have, will fit no problem.  You won't get all the added features of Ivy Bridge with Z77 like Pcie 3.0, etc but you won't lose anything either.

here's an example.  But lots to pick from.

Just check mobo dimensions for fit.  You have a full size mobo so it should be good.

Good Luck.   Big%20Smile

Just a thought...  Have you checked cpu/gpu temps and maybe a bad psu causing the issue.   Burned socket can mean a heavy oc'ing or a psu that spiked, but just thinking out loud.  Big%20Smile
