Hi I'm new to the DS forum and ended up here after doing extensive comparisons of DS with ibuypower and cyberpower
I feel like buying from DS would be a wiser choice so I just need some help configuring a very capable gaming computer. I'm going to be dorming with this computer so i guess i also wouldn't want it to be too loud or anything >< heres the config: ticket number: 422920 http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=406199 |

What resolution does your monitor support up to?

Yikes, that's really bad. Perhaps allocate some of the budget to a new monitor?
Perhaps something like ticket #422939, and put the rest to get a 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitor. Don't worry about the 480 noise, its fans only rev up when gaming, but all video cards do the same. |

I noticed a quite prevalent preference for the CM HAF's here on the forums.. I had initially set my eyes on the Storm sniper case and was wondering why the HAF is so commonly preferred over the Sniper or any other cases.
I was also wondering if i should go with stage 1 aircooling or 2 of the noctua coolers? |

Better air flow, lot of room, low cost.
When on a tighter budget, Stage 1 Noctua. With their default fans the larger Noctua NH-D14 does not cool significantly better than the smaller Noctua, just a few degree difference.
The Micro has two full PCIe x16 lanes, the LE has x16/x8/x8/x4 lanes. Even the monster 480 only loses about 2% performance on a x8 lane though, so the LE can do dual or triple SLI or CF just fine, and still has more lanes for any extra add on cards like sound cards, network cards, video capture cards, etc. If you for sure don't need the extra lanes the Micro is great, but it doesn't have the expandability of the LE. |

i agree, save room in the budget and get a good monitor or its a waste in my opinion. if needed, drop to a 470 and get a 1980x1020 monitor
so if the monitor is included in the 2k or less,
consider this and an
dont forget though, that shipping your dso shipping will cost about $60 i believe
