Budget:
About $2500-maybe more Expectations: Mainly gaming and I want it to run all games at the best settings. I'd like to keep it under 2500, and this configuration works well. I'm pretty set on the 580 mainly because at some point I'll be able to go to higher resolutions. Currently I'm stuck at 1920x1080. Also, is there any problem with ordering the Asus Vg236h and 3D kit from DS? Before I change stuff, let me tell you that getting a 580 does not mean your pc will play all games at highest settings and good aa, as a matter of fact, if the 570 can't do it, the 580 can't either, in most cases.
In short, you want to have teh best shot of playing all games at highest settings at that res, you gonna want sli 570. Here you go Ticket# 503972 --- $2643 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (Intel P67 Chipset) (New & Improved B3 Revision Without SATA 3G Issue) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1000W Corsair (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (64MB Cache) (Model: Black Edition WD1002FAEX) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua NH-U12P SE Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks Boost Processor: FREE: Overclock the processor between 3.6GHz to 3.9GHz Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the top, so you endup with 4 x 200mm fans: haf 200mm non led fan even in sli 570/580 can't play all games at highest with good aa, some games like metro will need more. when intel gen 3 comes out add that as hdd1. |

1) Why the 2600K? Is it that much better than the 950? Wasnt there an issue with SATA on the Sandy Bridge motherboards?
2) Why Red internal light? Is that a personal favorite? :) I like blue. |

the 2600K is much better then the 950, its not even a contest, the B3 infront of the motherboard means that the mobo is the new version and does not suffer from the sata issue.
the pics here are misleading a bit, you have to read the fine print under the pic, in short the case is not blue like the pic, it has one led fan and that is the front 200mm red led fan, so since that fan is red, I gave it the red light, if you want it to be blue you have to ask DS specifically to change the front 230mm red led fan with this blue 230mm led fan: haf blue led 230mm fan then you can choose blue light, btw the haf x can fits another one of those big fans on the top, so ask DS to add a 200mm fan to the top panel also, now keep in mind the front fan I talked about earlier is a 230mm fan, the rest of haf x fans are 200mm so the one to add to the top is this one: haf 200mm non led fan however if you want it blue led then its this one: haf blue led 200mm fan Edited by DST4ME - 20 Mar 2011 at 2:50am |
