I think this is happening to you. Link.
On another note you can try Auslogics BoostSpeed. It has a Internet optimizer that will probably fix the problem. |

What's your estimated down/up supposed to be? Could very well be an issue with your provider. You may want to contact them and ask them first if they're experiencing issues on their end before anything else. What do you typically rate before this rating you've posted?

One of the inherent problems with DSL providers is that living outside the 5 mile transmission hub you tend to get a weakened signal. The further away from that 5 mile hub, the worse your signal gets. I'm not sure how far away from the transmission hub you are, but that may be part of the issue if you do live quite a distance from it.
Again, do you know what your standard down and up speeds are supposed to be according to your contract with them. I believe I saw on their website you can achieve about a 7Meg down if all the planets and stars line-up. Edited by EdH63 - 26 Sep 2009 at 8:43am |

Actually, BoostSpeed is pretty useful for tweaking Windows.

tweaking windows will not make your internet speed or your pc any faster, with a penryn/i7 quad core, 4 to 6GB of ram, you can tweak windows all you want, you will not notice any difference, nor can it make your pc run any faster, not unless one has totally neglected their windows to the point where they are 70% fragmented or have load of temps files sitting around, which is an extreme case and nothing a quick a defrag adn ccleaner won't fix.
software's making your pc run faster was a gimmick started back when pcs had only 1Gb of ram or lower and a single core, in that environment, every little bit of resources you cut helps, and by cleaning the temp files and defraging and make a few resources available, a user thought that their pc is running faster, now in days these pcs can run more then 4 operating systems at a time and not even hiccup, so tweaking settings in one os will not make any difference what so ever to the speed of the pc. I never said that tweaking windows or anything else would make it, a pc, or the internet run faster. I'm very well aware of that. As for a quick defrag and ccleaner, this program also does that. I simply suggested this program to him because if he accidentally did something to his network, the program could possible fix it, not to give him dreams of his computer being lightning quick. If it is his provider, than there's no harm done and he can simply uninstall it, no harm done, so please stop trying to prove a point that's really not necessary.

shane you may not say that it will speed up anything but the app itself is claiming that it can make pc boot faster and make your Internet connection faster, make apps startup faster, that is all BS, I know your heart is in the right place and you are trying to help, I'm just warring readers about gimmicks and apps that claim stuff that is BS, it has nothing to do with you, you are a good man
