I know I should know this and I think I do but I want to be sure to save myself costs on possibly having to return items.

I'm looking at video games for my computer.  I have a dvd-rom.  All of my games are pc-cd.  I want to buy a game but it's says pc-dvd.  I can play this on my computer, right?
I don't know. I would think I could but I want to be sure cause I have a lot of other games but like I said, they're ALL pc-cd rom. Shipping things back and forth can start to add up and cost a small fortune.

Yes, if you have a DVD-ROM and the game says PC-DVD, you can play it.  If it's PC-CD, then no.

If you have a PC-CD drive, you won't be able to play a PC-DVD on it.  You'll only be able to play PC-CDs on it.  Games typically come in both formats but as the gaming environment evolves, you're going to see less PC-CDs available.

If you were to buy a game in PC-CD and the same in PC-DVD, the difference would be PC-DVD will have one disk to load, and PC-CD would have two to four disks to load depending on how big the game data is.  And, if you had a PC-DVD drive you wouldn't be able to load the PC-CD version.

Are you saying that you're able to load your PC-DVDs on your PC-CD drive?  That shouldn't be the case.  I may be wrong here and missing something though.

??? I am totally confused. I'll ask one of the tech staff.   Tongue Maybe I just don't know what I have. But it says DVD Rom on the front of the disc player and I've been playing pc-cd games on it.  Thanks Ed. Heart

You're good to go then.  You just can't play DVDs on a PC-CD drive.

This response is saying that you cannot play a DVD on a PC-CD drive.

Pineapple,

Yes the game will work.
PC-DVD just simply means the game is on a DVD (disc). So as long as you have a DVD drive, then you're good to go.
