Howdy....I have been reading and what I have found is that Intel 's new nehalem wont suppot nvidia sli...............that would only leave ati as an alternative in crossfire..and i just left there forums that were full of complaints and issues....im a bit worried...i really cant get my rig for a few more months...and ati's configuration may be the only option..with the good...I hear nehalem is fast...comes the bad....crappy graphics?

There's still 6+ months for Nvidia and Intel to come to a reasonable agreement.

ATI graphics aren't  bad... they just target a different audience than Nvidia and don't offer any enthusiast options right now.

You also never know when ATI will turn the tables on NVidia- They've done it before. AMD did it to Intel once, they could do it again, and nothing is set into stone that Intel or NVidia will always be on top in their respective markets. Lots of things can change in 6 months in the world of electronics technology.

Honestly though would you really need a Nef right now if all you do is game? They still havent opitimised for 4 cores. Let alone 4 cores with hyperthreading.

It's not just the Hyper-Threading that makes Nehalem different. It got a ton of other tweaks. It's Intel's new "tock."

From what we seen with Nehalem, it's definitely a faster platform than Penryn.

It is disappointing that NVIDIA currently does not have a motherboard designed for Nehalem for this year. However, it may be because it isn't a mainstream platform, since Intel will only have their Extreme Edition processor for the launch.

Word has it, Intel's Nehalem will not use "dual-channel" but "triple-channel" memory!

It's amazing how platforms change so fast.

Tyler, you are right that ATi could turn the tide, but, when you analyze their road maps. It looks like Intel is still the top dog.

If you haven't heard, Nvidia is not licensed to make their chipsets compatible with Nehalem. The two are currently in negotiation...

Intel wants SLI on their chipsets but Nvidia wants to have SLI exclusive.

Who's side are you on? =p
