Sorry the NDA has not been lifted yet. We cannot post benchmarks.

We will have our first first DS Labs video showcasing Nahalem once the NDA does lift in November.

Warm Regards,
Alex

By the way those benchmarks were not properly setup yet. The scores that were listed are incorrect.

For the real deal, wait until we post our video.

Warm Regards,
Alex

Here are some benchmarks using a real world-class benchmarking application for raw processor computing power (Super PI):

It shows a at least 25%-40% increase in performance from clock-for-clock comparisons (overclocks included).

P.S.

Obviously games and other single threaded applications will barely notice a difference. It isn't right to benchmark a processor and base it upon something that doesn't even utilize it's features.

As to the question about why i7? Well, it's the future, it's the latest bleeding edge, new socket change, and it supports triple channel memory (3GB, 6GB, 12GB configurations).

Enjoy,
Alex

Nice...

Question: any plans to discontinue offering 5 year warranty for rigs w/ Nehalem due to it being new-tech, etc.?

.. Oh, and thanks. LOL

*scratches head*

Of course:

a. no more 5 year warranty
b. yes 5 year warranty stays

Reason being, i really like the aspect of being "looked" after for five straight years, especially with new tech..

Im going to go ahead and assume that 5 year warranty stays Wacko
