I have an ASUS Eee PC 1005HA that I want to optimize just for normal day tasks (Chrome, Word, Flash Games, Occasional Minecraft on short render distance).

I have completely cleared the desktop on start up, uninstalled all unnecessary programs, defragged my HD, and I am using "Set FSB" and GMABooster when necessary to overclock my CPU to 1.71 from 1.6 and speeding up my integrated graphics by 2.4x using the respective programs.

I read somewhere that using Set FSB I should only take the slider to 185, which is equal to a clock speed of 1710.5 Mhz.

Any other ideas? I have a little less than 1gb of RAM, but I don't want to mess with any hardware, this is just a little project for me until I have a DS system in a few months

Thanks,
HAL

If you've had it a few years there's nothing like reinstalling windows if you have the time and place to backup your files and reinstall your programs.

I'd have to second the re-installation of Windows. That's normally what I do on my old laptops that get regulated to basic tasks. Well, that and I also turn them into Linux boxes, but that's just a personal thing.
