Impossible to say conclusively which one is the best. Most if not all vendors go through good and bad versions. Plus there is free and paid. I've been using Kaspersky for a few years now. It's certainly not without occasional problems, but I'm used to how to navigate the firewall and I've haven't had any system crashing viruses yet.

I think the only one that nobody will endorse is Mcaffee. Heard and read nothing but bad things about it.

I use, among other tools, the avast! premium and have been very pleased with it over the years.

The reason no one wants to endorse McAfee is because it is what is referred to as "Bloatware"... huge resource hog and very very hard to get rid of should you wish to change up.

I don't prefer anti virus applications. Windows Defender is all sufficient in itself.

Used ESET for 10 or more years. Never a problem, easy, light on resources.

I have used AVG free edition for years on family PC's with great success. Stopped my gma from getting viruses lol. Myself have not had a virus flagged since 1999 when I destroyed my mom's PC as a kid.
