Hello all, this is relatively a new post and a introduction. I work mostly WFH as a DevOps Engineer. I've been building computers ever since I was a kid starting off with a Pentium 4 on Windows 2000, but never good as how DigitalStorm's builds looks. I've always wanted that professional and clean look to a system and I feel I found it. I've been on air-cooled my whole life and liquid cooling is something quite new and exciting for me. I always viewed air cooling as an easy way out, and it was mostly true. With this purchase, I went with the soft tubing as the hard tubing I heard might be difficult for beginners from what I have seen. I got the config with both the CPU+GPU. Got this mostly as a work+gaming desktop. I realize there's a huge wait-list, but I don't mind waiting as long as the quality can make up for it. Is there any tips or suggestions for a first-time buyer on DigitalStorm? Thanks all, can't wait to receive my Bolt X :) and this will be my first journey with a company that builds my PC for me. I hope It will be good as they say.

If you seek advice on your configuration why don't you post to the Configuration Discussion thread and include the configuration number so we can see the exact configuration.

First, welcome to DS! ... glad to have you aboard...
Second, you have to know that we all live for pics of new machines in their new homes, so, when you can, send a pic so we can drool. As far as first things, just your normal everyday computer stuff. The machine should be pretty much plug and play from the beginning but with liquid cooling you're going to have to tear yourself away from looking at all the pretty lights to see if the gorilla handed shipping companies have jarred anything loose. Once you're certain that it is, in fact, still sealed just do what you need to as far as anti-virus... then game on! So send a pic, take good care of it, and enjoy the heck out of it. Congratulations and welcome to DS. ![]() That is a very nice proprietary (exclusive) SFF system. Including the gpu in the cooling loop was a smart move since on air they tend to run warmish and using soft tubing will make working on it (cleaning, refilling, etc) a lot easier. Make sure you make the appropriate offerings to the shipping gods for safe passage. ![]() Snaike already stated it and I would fail if I didn't tell you that we do like images of systems in their homes. ![]() Enjoy. |

Very excited about the Bolt X :) I paid for overnight shipping when it finishes the stages. Do you have any recommendations on the coolant @hoserator? Being a complete noob with liquid cooling I do know you have to use Distilled Water, but I'm sure there are better ones out there with a specific mix of chemicals?
Will def take pictures! Edited by theantihero - 28 Jun 2020 at 6:34pm |

Hi, Only use distilled water to flush system and for emergency use if no coolant available. Ask DS what coolant they used and for a bottle or order one to have for fill ups. You CANNOT mix coolants. Enjoy. |
