    Posted: 12 Feb 2010 at 8:55pm
So I have about 4.5k to spend and was thinking about this system... I've been following the forums and compiled what I think is the consensus of what to include. What do you guys (who know more than I) think?

I play CoD:MW2 and WoW and will be playing Starcraft 2 and the new Diablo when they finally come out. I am currently playing at a 1680x1050 resolution and need the new system to play at max settings without breaking a sweat.

Questions:
1. Is the Noctura NH-D14 sufficient to cool this system?

2. Is 1000W Power supply sufficient?

3. Is the
EVGA X58 Classified Mobo worth $200 over the non "Classified" version?

Thanks in advance for your input!

BTW... Would like to get higher than 1680x1050 res. I'm sure that isn't an issue with the 5870 cards. Just wanted to throw that out there.

your res depends on what your monitor can do first.

1. is the system worthy of Noctura NH-D14 is a better question, that cooler is a monster, it can do the job and more.

2. 1000W Corsair yes.

3. If the need is there then yes, for you no.

you got overkill in your setup that is not needed.

now this beast is for 1900 x 1200, can your monitor even do 1900 x 1200? if not then the above build is overkill for you, it would better to go with 5850 if your res is 1600 x 1200

Can you recommend a ~$4500 rig? I do plan on upgrading my monitor and will match the monitor res to the comp capability.

what size monitor?

and what do you mean can I recommend a $4500 rig?

by adding more money we are not going to gain performance for what you are trying to do, the system I configed is to play games at 1900 x 1200 (24" monitor) with highest settings and 8x aa.

adding more stuff will not make a difference you will notice.

to be honest the only things left to do to drive the cost up is to put the whole thing under LC, which will give you no performance gain, but if you like we can do that:
