One note is that you could update the GPU to the 2060 super and with the extra $100 off it would only cost you $83. I think you would be much happier with the extra GPU power.

I was just looking at that and wondering if that might be a better route to go. I been watching for a few weeks at some of the other builds and learning best I can. Hope everything else in my build looks solid. Thanks for your reply.

Since you so close to the $3000 line, it seems to make sense to up your build a bit and get another $100 off.

I did change the GPU to the 2060 super as you suggested on a different build page. I contacted DS on chat to ask a few questions about the wifi and the stability of that build after that change. He changed some things -MoBo to the Msi micro ATX board, DS Brand of ram, processor to the i7F, and then put in the RTX 2080 super all for just a few dollars more. As I am not THAT big of a gamer but do some racing and hunting games and won't go to a 1440 res monitor anytime soon not sure I would need the higher end GPU. I am thinking stay with the corsair products best I can and stay with the build I posted here with the 2060 super GPU as you suggested. Any comments and or suggestions are welcome. Thanks again !

I'm pretty puzzled why the DS guy would take you in that direction. Your instincts are correct. You don't want a micro ATX unless you have to. The Gaming Pro Carbon is an excellent, and superior choice.
You have no business anywhere near a 2080 at 1080p. You would overspend by a mile on graphics you would never even see. If the DS RAM gets you to a price point you must have, that would be acceptable. It's all I've ever had in my rigs, and it's never failed me, but the thing right now is the Corsair Vengeance is just a scant few $ more and carries a Lifetime warranty. The Dominator is presumably better, but money could well be saved on the Vengeance with no worries. The CPU change isn't a disaster either. Pretty damn fast as it is, but only if it gets you to a price point you must have, not to get you to a GPU you definitely don't! I think you will not be disappointed in the way you chose, at all. Nomad steered you right IMO. You "might could" back down to the 32 GB of Vengeance, and step up to the H115i cooler for the oc, and still hit the magic $3000 target. |

Thanks Cretae and Nomad, I stepped up the cooler as you suggested and left everything else the same that I mentioned before and that puts me where I need to be. I think maybe the DS rep I chatted with had strickly gamming on his mind and I may not have explained myself well either.( I can be a little slow MOST the time anyway, lol ) Here is what I think I will go with in a couple of days. Thanks for the help everyone! Specifications:

Just a note, I got the Corsair Vengence RGB RAM. It really perks up the color scheme in the Lumus case with the LL fans. It is a little be cheaper, and a small amount slower, but it is beautiful.
