Will I need to add another video card 8800GTS 320MB in a few years because of graphix technology ?? ..   Im limited on my monitor size, so a 19" LCD is gonna be it for me (1440 X 900 res)

Looks good but if you plan on upgrading in the future, you should get a 600W PSU.

You won't benefit from SLI at all playing at 1440x900 resolution. So get a 9800 in the future if you feel that you need to upgrade.

He sure will benefit from SLI at 1440x900... his framerate would increase quite a bit.

Id get SLI ready motherbaord and a 750W PSU

here is the framerate with 1x 8800GTS 320MB: 63.2 fps

here is the framerate with 2x 8800GTS 320MB: 112 fps

It doesnt have a chart for resolution at 1440X900, but im pretty sure SLI will help your performance quite a bit...

If you want such high frame rates, why not just get a single Ultra.

just imagine the ultra running at your low resolution...

single Ultra is $619

SLI GTS is $739, consumes more watts than a single ULTRA

Is $100 and a higher electricity bill worth 10 more fps that you won't notice any performance gain from?...

A single GPU will always be better than SLI for MOST resolutions. A single 9800 GTS/GTX outperform and will be cheaper than a SLI 8800 setup.

At the resolution of 1440x900 your games will run at 30FPS plus and that should be good enough--You don't need SLI. Video card get outdated real quick so i would stay with the 8800GTS for now and get a better card in the future. The 8800GTS is a great mid-range card and it's perfectly suited for your requirement. Your 500W PS should be fine but if you plan to add more devices and/or upgrade the video card later go with the 620W Corsair PS just to be safe since upgarding the PS is a pain in the ......-- I've also seen system with a 500W PS running a pair of 8800GTX in SLI !!!

It's a nice solid build.

As far as to an SLI motherboard or not, I think that depends on how you see you future spending on this system, and whether or not you think you'd be overclocking, as MoBo selection has an impact on that. The processor is about as nice as they come, and the RAM is a very solid choice. The HDD is maybe a little on the lean side, but should be plenty for a gaming computer. The 8800GTS is easily the best value in high performance cards available right now IMO (I count anything over~$250 as high end).

The only item on that list I would at least consider an upgrade on, is the PSU. If it is within your budget, go for the Corsair 520W. [H]ocp did a full test and review on the 620 version, and it's a heck of a performer, easily worth the extra price, again, if it is within your budget to do so.

On the graphics card, that's a never ending thing. You will always need a new graphics card in a couple of years Wink. DX10 is very new, and it's new to game developers as well. We've all watched as DX9 has evolved, and as DX9 cards have become ever more powerful over the years. There is no reason to think this will stop any time soon.

This is my best guess: The 640MB version of the card will have slightly better longevity than the 320MB version as developers start to ask for more textures to be loaded into the graphics cards' memory. The 640MB memory size has very little impact  right now given the size of your monitor, but it will probably be better equiped to deal with increasing demands on memory size as time goes by.

Again, still guessing here, but I would be surprised if the new standards for graphics cards did not shift to 512MB and 1GB of DDR3 very soon, maybe as soon as the Nvidia 9 series, for all but entry level cards. When comparing the 8800 series selection choices for the purposes of longevity, I would use that guestimate as a comparitive figure in deciding between 320MB and 640MB, rather than the 256MB and 512MB we've grown acustomed to seeing.
