Does anyone see any obvious mistakes? I do know that I could probably have gone with 16GB of RAM, but decided to go for the 32GB. I do plan to try running in 1440p and will be buying a 27" monitor to do that. If the FPS takes a hit I will play at 1080p.

Thanks.

Two modifications I think are important. You should get the 850W power supply for extra overhead now, and to have better options for expansion of this system later. The 600W powering a 2070 SUPER leaves you no room for much expansion, and gimps any future thoughts you might have for a better GPU.

The second is to upgrade Storage Set 1 to an NVMe M.2 drive. The Ds one is SATA, the NVMe s work off the PCIe bus for 5 times the speed. It's a game changing improvement. You can get the new 500 GB Seagate Firecuda for only $21 more. By far the best bargain here. It runs neck and neck with the Samsung 970 PRO, and also offers a 5 year warranty.

Everything else is well thought out, the 32 GB of RAM will help your productivity work, and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 2070 SUPER at 1440p.

Am I able to change my order to incorporate those changes if I just entered Stage 1?

Yessir. They will be happy to help you. There's plenty of time. You'll be in Stage One for awhile. It just means your payment's approved and they have put you in the line to get started ASAP. They are a bit short-handed and there are procedures, so you could be in line for more than couple of weeks.

That build will be fine for 1440P.

I also have a Lumos with the Intel Core i7-9700K, 32 GB of RAM, and the RTX 2070 SUPER.

I run this on an Alienware 34" 1440P monitor, with max settings on Digital Combat Simulator (flight sim) - very fluid picture, no stutters at all.

I'll be monitor shopping. I have a few ideas, but won't get too serious until I get to Stage 3.

The other issue I will possibly tangle (no pun intended) with is cord spaghetti between the router, computer, UPS and other stuff. If I am going to have everything pulled out I might want to do that at the same time.

How many case fans will be in the Luminos? I read that there are three front fans and I assume the Stage 2 Performance Liquid cool is going out the top, so is there also a fourth fan that goes into the back top of the case for a total of four?

In case you wonder why I ask I am playing around with pcpartpicker.

You added the LL fans, there will be 6 fans installed.

In mine, the radiator was installed behind the 3 front fans.

Bob, I just saw that 34' Alienware 1440P monitor today. How would that compare to the Acer X34? For some reason I wasn't feeling it, but I did like what the X34 had @ $999. I'd be running Config ID 3064744. Just looking for a good monitor now.

Interesting. I didn't know the radiator could go there because I assumed that would keep the hot air from the liquid cooler inside the case instead of immediately ejected out the top.

Addendum: After reading Nomad's response I sought out videos and saw a few comparisons and the results did surprise me. So the question then would become what video card does DS use for the RTX 2070 Super? That would let me know if it is an open shroud or blower type.

I'm glad I asked the question. The response really surprised me.

My Lumos:

RTX 2070 Super (Asus RTX2070S Turbo Evo) is a blower type GPU

I have a custom liquid loop cooling system; the radiator is a 360mm, with 3 fans configured by DS as intake. I have 2 fans on top and one at the rear configured by DS as exhaust.

My future plan is to add a second radiator (240mm) on top, keeping the fans exhausting.

Sorry, don't have any experience with the Acer X34.

Nearly the same price for either. All I can tell you is the Alienware has been recommended here by several users. At Amazon, it has a significantly higher % of 5 star reviews (82% vs 66%, but far fewer reviews.) Dell has been producing quality high-end panels for many years, but I have a lot of respect for the Acer Predator line as well. Perhaps you should look at some pro reviews?

I updated the order today and swapped out the PNY RTX-2070 an ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Super Dual EVO OC. While a 2080 Super is overkill for me. It was a good overall solution for me.

The order, still in Stage 4, is now:

I know you've been putting a lot of thought into this, and I have every good wish that you will be well pleased. Overkill? Not quite, but you know I don't think it's needed for a quality experience. But WANTED is also worthy of consideration! Theses are our toys, after all....

It's just as important to be completely comfortable with our choices.
