Summer is approaching and this is my chance for a new gaming computer. My hopes for the build is that it will run COD6 in max with at least 2x AA. Of course no one knows what the recommended requirements for it is yet, but I think it's safe to say that it will require more than COD5 but less than Crysis. My budget is between $2000-2600(2700 is pushing it) with the promotion. I'm mostly concerned about the graphics card, cooling, and power supply(depending on the GPU). I will be playing in 1680x1050, but I may upgrade to 1080p in the future. I do want a sound card, mainly for competitive reasons, but I will be using a stereo headset for now, so changing the sound card could be an option, but not onboard audio. I intend the KILLER Xeno Pro for competitive reasons. :]

Alright thanks. If I got with SLI, would I need to upgrade to liquid cooling to get the most out of it? Or is air cooling sufficient enough for a 275 but not a 285?

honestly, if you don't know how to work the heatsink on the GPU I would not LC the GPU, cause if anything goes wrong you have to send the system back to DS, with air on GPU you won't have to do that.
with 2 x 275 or 2 x 285 you should be fine, when you add the second GPU, don't install it next to the other GPU, use the PCI slot furthest away from the first one that will help also
275 and 285 are very close as far as performance Edited by DST4ME - 03 May 2009 at 6:17pm |
