Hello everyone,
I'm shopping around for a new desktop pc that will predominately be used for gaming (skyrim, ffxiv, the witcher, etc). My current desktop is around 5 years old and it just isn't holding up any longer. I'm not exactly tech savvy so I was hoping some of you could look over my first build and give me some advice. I would like to have the option to upgrade to two cards with SLI in the future if possible but i'm easily persuaded if this is not an economical move, haha. I'm also concerned about adequate cooling for the system. Thanks for the help everyone! Budget: approximately 2000$ give or take a couple of hundred, but cheaper would always be better if i'm not getting much performance power with my dollars Expectations: Mid level gaming pc without having to upgrade for a couple of years Usage: mostly gaming, but will also be used for work related purposes (ppt, word, excel, camtasia, some video editing) Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm ODE V3 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i5 4670K 3.40 GHz (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS Gryphon Z87 (Intel Z87 Chipset) (Features Thermal Radar) (MATX) System Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Corsair) (Model: Neutron GTX Series) (SATA 6Gbps) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (1TB Seagate (7200 RPM) (64MB Cache) Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 4GB (Includes PhysX) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H100i 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler (Extreme-Performance Edition) H20 Tube Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Memory Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Extra Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 10-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty |

Welcome to the DS forums, taloddar2002!
There are 2 changes I would recommend to your build. The first is to change the SSD to a Samsung 840 Pro. It's the fastest SSD out and has a slightly better reliability record over the Corsair. And since my life has not been favored by Seagate, I would opt for the Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB drive - but this is a personal preference. (Even Apple ended up replacing every 1TB Seagate drive used in their iMacs that were sold over a 2 year period due to quality issues.)
Other than that, looks like a rockin' system!

You put together a real nice build. Make the changes suggested and you're on your way to a nice DS rig. The mobo and psu allow sli if needed in the future.
Good luck.
