I am considering a budget build shown below. I don't do gaming but I do architectural design work using 3D software called Chief Architect. It relies on gaming hardware for its performance as it is heavily driven by 3D. I do renders that utilize the GPU heavily and will eventually do some raytracing that utilizes the CPU heavily. My budget was $1200-$1400 for the PC and I am slightly over it with build #408464, but it may work. I am looking at the cheaper 250 video card to keep the price down. I will purchase something like a GTX 480 later when they drop in price. Have any of you run a 250 to compare with an ATI 5770? I’ve read the reviews and they seem to be close.

My main concern is making sure I have the base components covered (MoBo, PSU, good case for cooling, etc.) Any suggestions on these two systems? I am still not sure about the AMD X6. My software developers say their future releases will utilize more cores with their next release in June and even more as they port to 64-bit in the next couple of years.

I will buy a Dell U2410 at 1920 x 1200, which is one reason I need to keep the price down. Thanks for any help.
