cpu-wise this system is more powerful, gpu-wise you won't notice much of a difference, you can always oc the sli 570 for more power, but I left room for tri sli, should you feel like it in the future.

I'm sure you know fsx does not use sli. Edited by DST4ME - 31 Jan 2011 at 2:33am |

Is it true that the sandy bridge cpu will burn up fast if overclocked even just slightly without Liquid cooling? I do absolutely want the 2x gtx580 sli.I thought I would want a board that supports dual cards at x16 and I dont think the asus maximus does, but thats why I'm asking for help. I went with the 1500 in case I ever did 3xsli. Will the 1200 corsair still work for that? The more I learn about gulftown, and sandybridge, the harder it gets to pick

NO its not true, actually opposite, sounds like you have been talking to somebody who has not clue what they are talking about at all.
if you want 2 x 580 go ahead, I want you to understand tho that you will not notice the difference form sli 570 and basically you are throwing your money away, $400 worth on gpus alone, you can oc the 570 if you like to get the same performance of 580 pretty much. the mobo I picked for you will give you tri sli. you don't need x16 lanes to run sli, difference between x16 and x8 is like 2 or 4 fps. for tri sli 1200w corsair will do. my build gives you what you want, and the option of adding a third 570 if you need it and saves you over $600. IMHO its a very easy choice between sb and gulftown, sb wins easy, th mobo I gave you in tri sli does x16, x16, x8, which is all one needs for tri sli. |

For gaming there is nothing for me to add honestly, that build is jakced up.
the next thing would be to add LC (stage 3 and higher) but its not necessary, and it will only help with temps, performance will be the same. |

sorry been busy past week and have not been around as much as I like, please excuse me.
I don't see any problems at your res, unless you want to set crazy aa, then vram might be a problem, in that case you may want to look at cf 6970. oc over 4.0GHz is not gonna be noticeable in games too much, for ohter things its great. |
