Hey guys, this is going to be my second DS machine and I'm looking for some help with a couple pieces of it.
My budget is going to be somewhere in the $2000-$2300 range. I plan to use it for games such as Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2, and other new titles.
1) Should I go with 8 or 16gb of RAM?
2) Will 120gb SSD be plenty or should I go ahead and get the 180gb? I have a 1tb and 1.5tb drive already that I plan to move over for storage, so it would mostly be used for the OS and other things that will really benefit from the speed.
3) I noticed that the build I'm considering (below) starts with liquid cooling as the default now instead of air cooling. Will the air cooling I've selected be right for the build?
4) Will the power supply be sufficient for what is included in the build?
And, as always, any other improvements or suggestions are welcomed.

Hi Silentfury300..
That build is right on. You don't need more than 8GB ram for gaming but some for a few bucks more go to it ' just in case'. But you really don't need it. I like the bigger SSD. 120GB will be fine, but the 180GB does give you more growing room, but your call and for a tight budget, the 120gb will work fine. The Noctua D14 air cooler is always my pick over the sealed Vortex units. It cools just as good if not better, is quiet and very dependable. The 800w psu if sufficient for a single graphic card. No problem there. The 750HX for another $50 I believe is a better unit and has a 7 year warranty and is a modular psu, meaning if you ever need to change the psu, the cables don't have to be pulled out and re-installed.. DS does warrant the 800w for 5 years so either way you're good. Your internal lighting is green and your front fan has a red LED. Looks good to me but just throwing that up there. Hope this helps and good luck. Don't forget the free t-shirt. |
