I've been doing a little research and this is what I've come up with.  I would like to hear suggestions and comments....good or bad.  I want an ass kickin machine for under $3000.

Do you really need 1TB of space? What size is your monitor screen by the way?

The rest of it looks pretty good. I saved a bit of cash with my build by going to a E8500 over a quad core. I only game though so the dual core is a better choice, plus it has a bonus of using less energy and making less heat.

You could also save a lot of cash doing the overclocking yourself. But if you arnt skilled at it its probably safer just to let them do it. But keep in mind with all that overclocking you have thats around 140 bucks right there.

The computer in my specs cost $2708 in case you are intrested. Keep in mind though its already giving technical problems before its even done lol..and thats with ZERO overclocking =P

besides the second 500 gb hd thats the exact system i just suggested for my cousin, i love it

id stick with the 9450

remove the video card overclock, imo

while sun is correct is saving some coin by doing your own OC, technically, it will not be covered in the warranty if the OC causes problems, id stick with it unless you are comfortable doing it on your own

another side note, you may consider an asus rampage if you do not plan to SLI that card; they tend to overclock better, and i love my formula

I probably don't need that much space, I'm also considering going with a 150 raptor and 250 for storage.  My monitor is a 22 inch Acer LCD widescreen.  I don't have anything against going SLI or even RAID 0 for that matter.  I don't have my heart set on any particular cofiguration yet....just seeing what everyone else has to say.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Your configuration looks good, except I also wonder about your choices on HDD. I think it all depends upon what you want the pc to do. Is it strictly a gaming pc? Or are you using it for rendering work? What kind of gaming do you do? You play first person shooters or real-time strategy or mmorpgs?

The new WD 300gb 10k rpm Velicoraptors are out so if you want speed/space I'd get one of those. Get a 250gb for right now then put one of those in, its what I am gonna do eventually.

If you do want to SLI 9800GTX in there eventually, that power supply will probably not be up to the task. You may want to bump it a notch.
