Most of those games don't even use sli, your build is not one we would recommend to you.
I see you chose monitor from here, here is some info: Most important thing about a monitor is its panel, right now there are 2 major ones, TN and IPS, IPS has superior picture quality/clarity. 1. response time is a bs number, its there to fool you and does not represent the true response time of the monitor, there is no real way of truly finding what response time is, the closest to it is white to white but you don't see that, you see grey to grey or black to black cause they give small numbers to fool users but they don't mean anything, there are different methods to get these numbers also, and each will give a different number as results, therefore you can even compare one to the other, cause we don't know what method was used for which, and even if we did, still GTG or BTB don't mean anything. 2. contrast ratio is also bs number. all the ones here on DS are TN. here is a good IPS: Dell UltraSharp u2312 Right now its on sale for $239. this config is much better, both in performance and reliability: Here you go Ticket# 636905 --- $2,264.00 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Maelstrom Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 (Intel Z68 Chipset) (Features Intel Quick Sync Technology) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (500GB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (16MB Cache) (Model: Blue Edition) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology) (EVGA Edition) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: Hanns-G 23.6 inch HH-241HPB (Widescreen) (Black) (Built-in Speakers) (5ms Response Time) Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: Logitech 2.1 System (Model LS21) (Includes Subwoofer) Keyboard: Logitech Media Combo MK200 Keyboard and Mouse Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Extra Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty I wanted to change the case also for more room and airflow however we are already over budget so I wanted to hear from you first, this system can do sli but I believe only starcraft will use it not sure if it needs it, we can drop the price a lot if we make it so that the system can't do sli and supports only one gpu, so something to think about, for a single gpu system checkout ode 1 also. Tweaked your build a bit just to cut cost. (639909) I understand the i5 to i7 switch, but why the drop in the HD to 500MB? and why only one GPU? wouldn't two of those be better?
i would rather put the money into the build right now and upgrade the monitor later what i have right now is ACER 22.5" standard 1920 X 1080

You can't tweak by build to cut cost cause with it you will cut reliability. My config is at it minimum for you without losing performance/reliability.
the ticket number you posted 636909 is a duplicate of my build, whats teh tweak? HD prices are high right now and will come back to normal in a couple of months, for that reason right now I try to get the cheapest hdd, so that less money is wasted, later you add a ssd and the 500gb gets pushed to storage or if you like you get a 1TB black caviar when prices are normal. NO sli 550 will not do better then single 570 in the games you mentioned. Edited by DST4ME - 28 Dec 2011 at 1:59am |

i didn't change any of your components. i dropped the monitor and the speakers out of the cost, and i added a different tower.

I see very good tho for case we recommend haf x for best airflow, but that one is ok also if you like it.
check newegg/amazon for speakers and etc, you should find better prices for the same things. |
