Budget:
3000 Expectations: to be able to run c3 and all other games at 2560x1440 res at 60 fps with no issue. Usage: Gaming, some work Special Needs: just must have the H100i corsair cpu cooler Saved Ticket #: 792979 this is the build i have been looking at. I really want that Corsair 800d Tower. Specifications: i run 2x 6970 ati cards but i am looking to run NVIDIA. im thinking 2x 680s. I am tired of Ati's lackluster patching. I am also tired of the catalyst system.. its crap. I have been lurking these forums for about a month now. I look forward to your input, you all seem to have great ideas. |

The Hailstorm is a fully water liquid cooling system i think you need at least stage 4 for it.

Hrm... but the lowest end selection of the Hailstorm defaults a 120mm cpu cooling set up.... I have just upgraded it to the H100i 240mm.
The selections are there for H20 cooling but i dont think you need to use them. |

Hi Solidus1833..... Welcome to the forums.
For air cooled, and this is air cooled with 680s not under water, the HafX is the best. Much better air flow. If you keep the 800d which is a real nice case, I would add the Case Mod with side panel fans added. 800d has a single 140mm fan feeding mobo cavity. You don't want to starve the sli 680s for fresh air. No HDD? for much cheaper storage. The SSD will fill real quick. Go at least stage 1 overclock. The 100i will handle it no problem. Its a inexpensive boost in performance. The Deluxe mobo has built in WiFi and the stick not needed. But, the Sabertooth does have 5 year warranty as opposed to Deluxe 3 years. Grab the free t-shirt. A sli 670 setup is lots cheaper than sli 680 for performance within 10-15% but the 680s are tops so your call of course. Hope this helps and good luck. |

Thankyou for the input.. I was thinking of adding the 2 fans on the case wall for added exahust... or fresh air.. i havnt decided.
I have 2 caviar black 1TB hdd's in my alienware area 51 atm.. i was gonna put them in to the new comp.. Lol i really wanted to use just sdds for everything.. but they are waaay to expensive.. so just an ssd for the os for now. I selected the intel auto over clock cus i thought it would get those higher speeds when it deemed fit? if not ill take your advice and do the 1st stage overclock. My brother just got the azus mobo taht has the built in wifi and he swears buy it. so i am gong with that mobo. I could just get 1 680 at buy. But i always like running 2 cards. It just feels more effcient. So instead of spending more money later just do it all at once and get 2x 680s. TYTY for your input Yes i was also looking at the HAF tower. I guess i lean more towards the 800d cus of looks. Sharp metal edges. TYTY again |

Our pleasure.
Stage 1 oc will give you higher clock than Turbo and across all cores. For your monitor I agree..... sli for sure for frames you're looking for. |

lol thank you for the help. Im going to be 1st stage OC from your advice. Also my wife just told me i could go past my 3k budget a lil.
So now can get the tower fan mods and some other such goodies. Do you recommend Exhaust the side panel fans or intake? I cant really find any info on it. |

Side fans should blow in IMHO. The cards will love you for it.
The cards exhaust out the back.
I think a bottle of wine for your wife would be a nice move. Lucky guy.Edited by bprat22 - 25 Feb 2013 at 1:45pm |

LOL thankyou very much.. Yea i told her to go buy a bottle. I agree with you on the intake fans.. i dont understand why people would exhaust in 2 areas.. seems like bad pressure management.
Thankyou for all your help. Lookng forward to pulling the trigger on this build.
