New comp suggestions?

   Well first of all games need video cards.. and I'll probably be playing source games like gmod, css, etc. What should i get? I have a crappy laptop from dell right now and it lags like hell.
2nd processor.. i5 or i7
I also need a computer 2000 dollars and less, and need it to LAST a long time
I won't be playing games on full settings and i won't get a huge arse screen 22" maybe.
