My computer is located on the other side of the house as my modem and router so i must use wifi. I fear i may have the lost the disc containing my wifi adapters driver ... is there anyway to get the driver onto my new computer without the disc?

The driver may be on the maker of the modem/routers website. You may be able to download it there.

I beleive the question is more along the lines of how can he access the internet to download the drivers to help him access the internet. The classic "Catch 22".
If my assumption is incorrect, please disregard this message. However, if this is the question, what I would suggest is a WiFi dongle or some such to temporarily gain access. I, too, have my machine on the other side of the house, yet I do not have a wifi card, I have a Panda antenna plugged into my USB. |

Turn off the rig and reboot. Windows should see a new device and install a driver. If not, go to Device Manager and click on the scan for new hardware icon in top task bar.

If all else fails, you can go to a different computer somewhere and download the driver to a USB memory stick. Then load it into your computer from the memory stick.

In addition to all the above suggestions (my guess is that Windows will be able to load a basic driver), you could just temporarily place your machine next to the modem. Not the most convenient solution but never shy away from manual labor.

Plugs into your USB port and connects your machine to your router... My Vanquish does not have a wifi card so I use this. Here's a picture of it: Edited by Snaike - 02 Feb 2016 at 10:25am |

For me, fantastically well. My biggest complaint is my ISP (LooKING at YOU "ATT Uverse") can't keep up with the panda. Any slow speeds I've checked my other devices and it's always the service, not this machine.

Make sure you try different USBs for the Wifi adapter you're using, I had that issue, and it worked fine as soon as I switched USB ports, as some are 3.0 and some are 2.0. Otherwise you could use a different computer, a friends if you don't have another, and download the drivers from there onto a flashdrive or something, then transfer that way

1. Physically move computer to router and use an Ethernet cable to connect to internet and get driver from website. 2. Use a different computer and copy the file to a USB thumb drive and then copy to original computer. P.S. I use this: Edited by SoCal65 - 04 Feb 2016 at 1:00pm |
