Hi apetamer ....welcome to the forums. And congrats on your purchase ....Just curious, what is the rig gonna be used for? If gaming, what size monitor and resolution? Do you do video encoding etc. that would require x79 platform. Just trying to give you best bang for the buck.

i'm going to use it to do some office work from home that I totally don't need the speed for, lots of music transcoding, some video, video games, some seti@home etc.. running a 1680x1050 resoultion 22 inch viewsonic. Mostly looking to have a super fast machine that will last me a few years.

You did build a fast rig and it should last for some time...
