Welcome to the forum ljb2148 !
First, due to repeated shipment holdups in US Customs and now also due to the current coronavirus situation in China...Ask DS and make sure DS is in stock on the black Velox case in particular, and everything else in your final order. DS has been kinda slow in telling customers of added delays due to part resupply issues. Pretty good build. I assume you already know 64 GB is pretty overkill for gaming, but RAM is very inexpensive right now and more RAM can always be useful. Nothing wrong with overkill if your budget can manage it. Solid ASUS Strix H Z390 mobo, top Intel gaming i9-9900K CPU, excellent NVidia RTX 2080 Super GPU, solid Corsair 850w PSU. SUGGESTIONS. 1) Upgrade to the Corsair H115i 280 mm AIO cooler...DS parts only carry the 1 yr system warranty...bigger capacity Corsair cooler has stronger cooling performance and a 5 yr Corsair warranty. 2) Consider a full Stage 2 Overclock as you would have enough cooling. This excellent intel CPU can do 5 MHz...all day long. 3.) Case fan upgrade to better airflow and quieter performance Corsair LL or ML case fans. Both fans are RGB LED lighted & include a Corsair Fan Expert Pro module to control RGB colors using iCUE software. LL fans carry a 2 yr warranty, and ML are magnetic levitation bearings for the quieter fan and longest 5 yr warranty. Your case fans are the first line defense for cooling your rig, and DS fans are low budget plain black plastic with just a 1 yr warranty. 4) we generally don’t suggest Overclocking the GPU on air cooling alone. Too little performance to gain, adds too much heat and stress. 5) Upgrade Drive 1 to a Samsung M.2 NVME SSD. You selected a normal M.2 SATA III speed SSD, but M.2 NVME SSD utilize the PCIE bus and go 5X faster than SATA III SSD. This a feature of the current crop of motherboards you don’t want to miss out using. Your board has 2 M.2 NVME ports, and these drives install flat right on the mobo. See what you think, but those changes proposed would certainly strengthen this Velox build..... Edited by HockeyBuck - 09 Feb 2020 at 6:38pm |

Glad to lend a hand! I have ordered 4 DS rigs since 2011; and all run 24/7 and never fail to impress...including a 2019 Lumos. Let us know how it all goes for you...

Actually, RAM as a commodity has taken an uptick recently, but not a major one. IMHO, before I invested $379 in something, I'd determine if I had a real need. If you don't do heavy video editing, CAD designing or run several extremely demanding programs simultaneously, a minimum of 32GB of that RAM will be idle all the time. Google it and see what the pros tell you.
