I am not sure on whether to get the 6870 or the 5870, but with a $150 dollar difference, is the 5870 worth it? Most benchmarks say they are fairly close, but benchmarks arent too reliable, so...

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Meh, I like nvidia, but I havnt has a compelling reason to cloose it over ATI, the only perk i see is physx and tessalation, but neither do or will apply to me.

Physx is only used in a few games, and still can be used with an ATI card, if it is that important to you. most gaming physics are not done  with Physx.

Tessellation, 90% of the cards in use that are capable of tessellation are ATI/AMD cards.

Justin, would you recommend the 6870, or the 5870?

I know you have the triple 5870 setup the last time i checked,

but I dont see why the 5870 is 150 dollars more for not the biggest performance increase

If possible wait, the 5870 is very old, dated, the 6870 is a mid range card. If you want ATI, wait for 6970, other wise go for the GTX 580. Big%20Smile
