Not an expert - but I know all the experts would agree the RAM is overkill. For gaming, many are still confidently running 16. 32 is probably the sweet spot. If you must, 64 is fine. But no need for 128. You'll prob want NVME SSD for your Storage 1, 5x faster than traditional SSD. Possibly overkill on the motherboard and power supply as well.

Keep in mind the wait for the 3080 is long right now. But so is the new AMD gpu's. I'll let Cretae come in and tell you what exactly you should do - but those are my initial thoughts.

Okay I don't really care on the wait that isn't a problem for me. Switching to 1tb of NVME SSD for storage 1 and 64gb ram digital storm performance. It was just shy of the 4k mark so I added a mouse pad to get the 400 off. How does that sound ?

I think that's better - but again wait for one of the tenured DS folks to weigh in on the build and if there's a better way to achieve that 4k mark you're after.

Well, the 64 GB of RAM is more than you'll need, but it does get you to the $4000 mark.

You will never need 1000W PSU. Do you even know what a TPM module is? It's an encryption module. Are you afraid someone is going to sneak in and erase a couple of your latest mods? Or you just want to be sure someday you lock yourself out of your rig? Ditch that.

Get yourself something way more useful forever on this build and replace those two nothings with a great big 2TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD in Storage Set 2. You will still get to the magic $4000 mark ($4006 by my count) but not by throwing random stuff in you won't ever need. At your budget, you don't want to gimp yourself with a mechanical hard drive.

I hope it helps.

PS: I'm not sure what "tenured" means in this context, but I'm just a customer.... Long time, three rigs, working up a 4th for my daughter, over 30 years a gamer on PCs. If that's tenured, I'm it.
