Hey Everyone!  I am thinking about buying something like this configuration or possibly building it myself.

Anyone have suggestions for changes?  I will be using the computer for mostly internet reading, some home work in database and word processing, and the occasional game.

Would like as quiet as possible.

Not sure about the cooler?

Note, I already have a 1TB HDD for drive number 2.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

Jim

as far as noise, most of your noise will come from your GPU then your CPU cooler then everything else

I left the veloci off cause there are going to be faster drives coming this year, and I don't think the almost $300 that the veloci cost is going to be worth it, wait and see you can always add a SSD or a veloci later, its so easy a 12 year old can do it.

Thanks DST4ME.  I keep going back and forth between the AMD and Intel.  I did not realize the veloci was that much price difference.  As far as adding HDD, etc., that is not a problem. It has been awhile, but I have built a couple computers. I'm not an expert by any means, but I know the basics.  Thanks again for your reply,

Jim

Great if you need a guide on how to move your OS from old drive to new drive in the same system you can follow my clone guide:

you can follow my clone guide here

Just in case if you know how to do that too then you are good to go, the 17 will give you better performance and you are getting a more capable system that is up to date and very upgradable

good luck, if you have anymore questions just ask
