Hello all this is my first build with DS, I've been building my own systems since the '90s. My first system was a 486 I found in the classified's for $200, two weeks later there was a Super Computer Sale show in Milwaukee, and I dumped a bunch of money on a MII-300 (300 mhz), Motherboard, and Memory. My wife (gf at the time) came home to find me surrounded in computer parts from the computer I had just bought 2 weeks earlier, she was pretty pissed, and it took me 2 months to figure out how to install Win 95 (the horror!). Since I heard of DS a few years back for the first time in a long time I've wanted to have DS build one for me, so I finally took the plunge ... SO EXCITED!!! .

Welcome to the forums Byatt, and congrats on your purchase!
I have a change or two to suggest to you... DS is easy to work with if any interest you...just ask them. 1). Drive1....your choice is a standard M.2 SATA III SSD. Move up to a 5X faster Samsung EVO 970 Pro M.2 NVME SSD or faster Evo 970 Plus M.2 NVME SSD. M.2 NVME SSD drives utilize the PCIE bus on your motherboard, and you have two M.2 ports to take advantage of. About the size of a pocket comb, these drives lay flat on the mobo, plug in on one end and are screwed down at the other end. M.2 Drive ports are kind of the big improvement on the current generation of mobos, and I hate seeing the opportunity to use these capabilities go to waste...lol. 2). You selected the excellent 8-core Intel I9-9900K CPU.....Intel specifically makes K and X class processors to be fully Overclocked for best performance 24/7, and DS offers a FREE Stage 1 Overclock... If you don’t OC this fine CPU, you are actually paying top dollar for performance you are not currently going to get! For just $99 you could have DS safely Overclock at the full Stage 2 performance level. It’s up to you... 3). Your system parts replacement warranty runs just a year unless you increase it. Would suggest you consider upgrading to better performance and longer warranties of the Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB RAM, Corsair 850w PSU, and Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler or the bigger better H115i 280 mm AIO cooler. The Corsair LL Series or ML Series Case Fan upgrade would offer much stronger cooling performance, longer warranties, they run quieter than the stock DS black fans, and come with a Corsair Lighting Node Pro module to sync the RGB lights. All Corsair branded parts would carry longer Corsair mfg warranties that beat the DS 1 yr. See what you think.... Edited by HockeyBuck - 22 Oct 2019 at 8:36pm |

The primary drive boost and Corsair RAM, PSU, and AIO cooler are important changes.
The LL fans are very attractive in that case. |
