I've owned and been using my new Digital Storm computer now for almost two weeks and figured that would be plenty of time to come to a full conclusion.
First what I ordered - the Extreme 2 preconfigured computer: System Configuration: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master HAF 932 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Interior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - No Thanks Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Factory Overclocked to 3.75GHz Motherboard: EVGA X58M (Chipset: Intel X58) System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair/Mushkin (Digital Storm Certified) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1000W Digital Storm Certified (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition) Card Reader: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Western Digital (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 896MB (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: 7.1 24-bit / 192kHz Decoding High Definition Integrated Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 1: Asetek Liquid CPU Cooler Liquid Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a H20: Stage 3 Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Yes, Factory Overclocked i7 920 from 2.66GHz to 3.75GHz with 100% Stability & Reliability Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability Memory Boost: - No Thanks Windows Boost: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) With Windows 7 Upgrade Coupon Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) I didn't have any direct contact with the sales department, but the regular emails I received kept me well up to date. My only complaint about the ordering process was that the order page stated the system would ship within 3 business days. Minor, but it actually took 5. No big deal and I'm MORE than willing to wiat a few extra days for a high quality computer. Here is the system overclock as sent by DS. Processor Temperatures Idle: 35C Overnight Load: 77C Important Notice: Overclocked systems will definitely run hotter than stock units. Your unit has been tested to be fully stable in our stress-test facility at these temperatures. Overclocked Processor Settings Processor Speed GHz: 3.75 CPU Multiplier: 20 Voltage CPU VCore: 1.3 VDroop Control: No i7 - BCLK MHz: 179 i7 - Voltage QPI\DRAM: auto i7 - Voltage QPI\PLL: auto i7 - Voltage CPU VTT: 150 i7 - Voltage IOH Vcore: auto i7 - Voltage ICH Vcore: auto i7 - Voltage IOH/ICH I/O: auto i7 - PWM Frequency: auto 780i/790i - Memory Clock Mode: 780i/790i - CPU FSB MHz: 780i/790i - Voltage FSB: 780i/790i - Voltage SPP: 780i/790i - Voltage MCP: Overclocked Video Card Settings Core MHz: 675 Memory MHz: 1245 Shader MHz: 1518 I've run CPU-Z and everything matched. Upon arrival, everything was flawless. No damage from shipping. After unpacking, I did examine everything, and didn't note a thing. Booted great the first time and has every time since. I did turn off the GPU overclock based upon the recommendations here as it not adding any value and only increasing heat. I haven't had to contact tech support, so I can't give any kind of rating, but I'm sure it is like the rest of the rig - flawless. I love my new computer. After owning it for a few days, one of my friends ordered the same machine based upon my glowing recommendations. DS, you have another highly satified customer. |

WoW I ordered the exact same system but am a little concerned with my temp results compared to yours which is the exact same system. I remember reading on this board that over 85C is not good.

@T Hammer,
Those temperatures shuffle between similar systems because the temperature in the testing facility fluctuates.
There is no need for alarm. When you receive your machine, you will notice your temperatures will be lower.
Warm Regards,
Alex
