    Posted: 24 Jun 2011 at 9:47pm
I am comming off of a 3 year old system that i had built.  Being out of the loop, I am considering getting a system built.  I want a system to be upgradable, reliable and last 3+ years.  From recent reading, the new chipset i7-2600K seems to be the new standard?  MB, I have no idea, just so it has room for expansion and reliable.  My current choice is based off of reveiws I have red vs. the others.  Is my power supply adequate?  What I have listed for the cooling adequate?
Any advice on this set up is appreciated.

What resolution are you be gaming at?

The i7 2600k is the current top-of-the-line CPU.

Take a look at this:
570521
$2167
You can ask them to add an extra 200mm fan to the top of the case.

You get more performance and more power headroom if you go SLI.

Changes:
Corsair 800w GS -> Corsair 1000w HX
Maximus Extreme MB -> P8Z68-V PRO
8GB Corsair -> 8GB DS certified
1TB Samsung -> 1TB WD Caviar Black
Corsair H70 -> Corsair A70
Increased CPU overclock to Stage 2
GTX 560 Ti -> GTX 570
Zalman Chassis fans -> Stock chassis fans
Removed OS tweaks
Removed video overclock

What kind of 200mm fan on the top of the case?

I am assuming this setup will run cool enough with airflow vs. having to go LC?
I see you switched the zalman fans to the stock fans.  They provide enough airflow?  What about if i opt to upgrade to the LED fans, do they provide enough airflow to keep this system cooled when it is overclocked on stage 2?

I am somewhat new to gaming, so I am unsure which resloution I will be gaming at.  I have a HP w2408h monitor that I will be using untill I decide to upgrade.

In the future when I decide to upgrade, how hard will it be to add a SSD or another video card if needed?

Thanks

Your config does not have real lc, any lc under stage 3 will get beat by a70 and d14 air coolers.

if you had stage 4 LC then I would say you get better temps, but lc is not a necessity for your use, its luxury.

this is the fan you want to ask DS to add to the top:

haf 200mm non led fan

so your res is gonna be around 1900 x 1200, then:

mikec's build is what you want, he made the right changes for you.

adding ssd is easy, you just clone the hdd to the ssd.

you can follow my clone guide here
