Hello, I have had a Digital Storm computer for almost three years, and I love it. My new configuration is 696432

I really like this case. I am recently physically disabled and to have this type of access to the cables is fantastic (although, I do love my old Digital Storm system).

I am planning to run World of Warcraft (and will be getting the new Mists expansion when it comes out) and Diablo 3 games, along with iTunes listening and burning. I am concerned about only having 8GB of memory. Also, I have an existing "clean, out of the box" Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s that I want to have Digital Storm install for me if possible. However, it looks like, with this case, that I may be able to install my personal drive myself.

So, I guess, here are my questions.

1) Is 8GB of memory at 2000 enough for what I want to do? Or can I get by with the 16GB at 1600?
2) Will Digital Storm install my separately purchased drive to the computer I'm buying from them?
3) Is the configuration I picked out going to last me 2 to 3 years like my old Digital Storm computer?
4) If I install my own drive, will it void any warranty I have with Digital Storm if I have problems?

Thank you all in advance for any comments or suggestions you may have!

Hi lsutow....Welcome

That build looks good.  To answer your questions.

1...8GB at 1600Mhz is all you need .  The higher speed you'll never see.

2.   DS, I believe , will install parts you send them for a price.

3... For longevity with this build the only suggestion I would make is to change the gtx 570 for a gtx 670 for another $98 if it is in the budget.  The 570 is a great card but the 670 is newer, faster, less heat going into the case and will be supported for a longer period.

4.  Installing a hard drive yourself won't void warranty  as long as nothing else is damaged in the process.  They won't cover in warranty parts you install however.

Hope this helps.Big%20Smile

Thank you bprat22

Okay, so 8GB at 1600Mhz is it? LOL! It just doesn't seem like enough. If I go with the 16GB at 1600Mhz would I see any difference?

I've also decided to just get an external enclosure for my WD SATA drive and use it to hold a backup of all of my music (via USB 3.0).

Also, what is the difference between the free OS Boost Disable and Tweak and the $35 OS Boost Disable and Tweak. I've looked all over the DS website, and they look identical.

Thanks again for your help!

For gaming, the 8GB is all it will use.  Even 8Gb is more than most if not all games use.  Some for just a 50 bucks more throw the 16GB in the pc "just-in-case", I guess meaning you never know what 3-5 years will bring.  8GB is good to go.
Those OS tweeks we never recommend.  The pc comes bloat free, and I just think you're better off deciding for yourself what you want and don't want.  Why one if free and the other $35 is something DS would have to answer.
