I bought my Dell monitor (2405 FPW) new January 14, 2005. Would I get better gaming ability out of a newer monitor? Such as a Dell U2410. Are the newer monitors better than the one I have? I am also looking at the Dell U2711 and the Dell U3011. I read that DST4ME doesn't personlly like the resolution on the Dell 27 inch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you have any physical size preference? Thats the first consideration. For instance, if you're really wanting a 30", then the U3011 becomes the obvious choice. But if you're happy at 24" which I believe is what the 2405FPW is at, then the U2410 (or U2412M) might be better for you. SLI 570s is going to do better at 1920x1200 than it would at 2560x1600 (U3011) if you are really prone to maxing out settings.

The ultra sharp monitors are IPS panels so they have better picture quality/clarity.
since you got sli 570 2.5GB you will be fine with the u30 also, but in some games you might need more power. the 30 inch of course not only is it an IPS panel but it also has higher res which means it will blow your current 24" away. |

Do you know if there would be a noticeable difference between the 7 year old monitor I have now (2405 FPW) and the newer Dell U2410. I don't have specifications on the old monitor, other than I know the maximum resolution is 1900x1200. I guess to state the question better - would the newer 24 inch monitor be better than the one I have now?

2405FPW vs U2410? Yes, you will definitely notice a difference, as you are comparing a non-IPS (not sure what the 2405FPW is offhand, but I know that line wasn't IPS, it might have been TFT) to an IPS.
