I just got my DS a week or so ago and I cannot get any sound. The DST tried to help but couldn't resolve the issue. I'm still waiting for a call back. All the drivers are up to date. I first noticed that a message kept popping up saying "you just unplugged a devise from the audio jack" and then another one would pop up saying "you just plugged in a devise to the audio jack". In reality, I didn't unplug or plug anysthing into the jack. The speakers were plugged in the whole time (green port). Now, I don't have any sound. I've researched this and it appears that this is a problem with EVGA x58 SLI LE and Win 7 (64 bit). Attached are some links of other people having the same issue. My system configuration is also below. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. http://www.eHYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=5856"vHYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=5856"ga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=5856 http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?HYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=102402&high=no+sound"mHYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=102402&high=no+sound"=102402HYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=102402&high=no+sound"&HYPERLINK "http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=102402&high=no+sound"high=no+sound http://wHYPERLINK "http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126481"wHYPERLINK "http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126481"w.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126481 http://www.seveHYPERLINK "http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/10221-realtek-hd-no-sound-windows-7-rc-x64.html"nHYPERLINK "http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/10221-realtek-hd-no-sound-windows-7-rc-x64.html"forums.com/sound-audio/10221-realtek-hd-no-sound-windows-7-rc-x64.html http://www.sevenforums.com/soHYPERLINK "http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/4133-realtek-sound-options.html"uHYPERLINK "http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/4133-realtek-sound-options.html"nd-audio/4133-realtek-sound-options.html http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprohardware/thread/c3874463-7f61-4d54-b335-c2f194d64d20

I've talked to Chris a few times today. He was very helpful but the issue still isn't resolved. He thinks its a compatiblity issue with the drivers but he can't get the onboard sound to work. I was going to purchase a sound card to see if that fixes the issue but decided to just ship the computer back to DS. I am waiting for Chris to call me back to finalize our discussion. |

Understood.
I would recommend staying in direct contact with our support staff as our forums isn't the real place for customer support but more for customers to have an area for discussion among themselves. I do see that you were opting to go with a dedicated sound card originally. I am sure we can work out a discount or something in order to avoid you being without a computer for an extended period and give some time for EVGA/WIndows 7 compatibility issues to iron out.
