New DST Pc - Gaming Problem

Received my new DST the end of this week.
Finally got got to set it up
 
i7 extreme 965 3.2GHz quad
EVGA mb
6gb ddr3 1866MHz corsair ram
1200 w ps
3x SLI GTX 280 1gb video cards
and much, much more
 
vista 64 bit
had DST do pre-load of game:
Call of Duty WAR
 
That game, and game I loaded and updated COD 4
 
both games once loaded go into total screen fuz and static with
split Screen top and bottom showing same game intro screens
 
Non-game screen and graphics are just fine in all regards
 
got ay ideas?

Wow another one, I throught all the machines are tested before going out? Did you check all the GPU's? Reset them? Reset the memory, stuff like that? Things that can come loose from shipping you know the drill these guys mention?

goldgunner I am sorry to hear about your woes, that sucks, I ordered a similar system to yours, and I am hoping they resolve any issues you are having. Anyways I wish i could have helped you more, I am sure others will be around to help you out.

Not sure what that means Samael, but OK say what you like...I try to believe but sometimes it just doesn't happen in life. No one is perfect but if they preach perfection expect criticism, just my option of course!

its your tone Richsi that just sounds like you are out to get at something, and from personal experience I agree with you, without criticism there cannot be growth of a company. But there is constructive criticism and then there is going at a company, I believe that the constructive one is the one that helps the company grow. That is all from your other posts it just seems that way, I am sorry if I offended you, I might be completely wrong, so again I am sorry.

In lies the problem with email how can you determine "TONE" without being in front of me face to face? I want DS to be successful because I want to purchase from them...It's just hard when I see posts of folks having real problems, some can be blamed on shipping I understand that! But what about the ones that aren't coming from shipping. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

I now have 3 games loaded

COD 4
COD WAW
Bioshock
I removed and reseated all 3 Rams, also swapped positions.
All other connectors and GPUS's are either reseated or are clearly secure.
 
I did clean connections of all USB's: keyboard, mouse.
I did clean connection of LCD - Dell
 
I manage now to get clean load of each game, which then goes to an impossibly slow mo: and that's even with minimum configuration settings.
Like playing Bioshock on a commodore 64
 
I have 10K/1K cable: i'm getting 9 fps on COD 4
 
So, please, put aside the darts and help me from the abyss of a new very expensive DST pc, that functions like a boat anchor.

If you read books as in story books its easy to understand tone, its hard to describe but I will say its easy to understand, though you are right its not 100% accurate..

And about some issues with computers you have 2 things to consider really

1. Most people that get their computers in working condition do not bother to come to the forums and say something, its usually the people having problems that come here, so that is something to consider.

2. When things do go wrong, even if it is something that was overlooked at the assembly center, DS takes care of the individual. Case in point: The system that Caymus got.


The biggest thing for me atleast  is that it says a lot about a company that is willing to have open forums. The only other company that I have seen like this is VoodooPC really.

What Drivers are you using??? The 181.22 drivers are having alot of issues and I would uninstall the drivers and use the 180's or 178's before uninstalling the games and reinstalling them.

Also my pc is running great and I view and post all of the time! You have to remember Highend gaming pc's with sli, super fast ram and overclocking will have issues from time to time. That just goes with the teritory

And at this point I completely agree with you, that's why I am passionate about DS being successful. Really VoodooPC is the same way as DS, interesting....Thanks!

Yes they are awesome as well, the only thing with Voodoo was that I did not have the money to buy their machines. And right now they are shifting focus as a company and becoming a more lifestyle brand and not entirely focused on the gaming aspect of things.

I would have gone with them but I do not have $10k lying around to buy a computer, thats their minimum price for an OMEN system, their only desktop right now. But I go to their forums a lot and the people there are awesome as well.

I do have the nvida 181.22 drivers for my gtx 280 sli cards.
Curious thing is the nvidia auto shows i have 2 of these cards, when i have 3
3 is what shows on my nvidia nanny
 
in the last 12 years i've had 1 voodoo; 4 falcon north west and now 1 DST.

wow, yea I want a FNW as well but o well dont have the cash, one of these days I will though haha. I love the FNW ones.

But that is a really impressive collection. Which Voodoo did you have? my favorite out of all their cases was the RAGE F:5 case, it just looked mean.

Try a different driver, slizone fourms has many posts about issues using 181.22 drivers. They might help you choose a more compatible driver.

1. Re-seat your video cards and memory.
 
2. Try one video card, memory stick at a time to see if you can pin-point it to a component.
 
Richsi, in regards to your statement of "I throught all the machines are tested before going out" is honestly a paradox. We obviously do our best to test and ensure the machines leave fine from our facility, in this case, we tested the game with the customers system as well to ensure it ran properly. Second, please don't assume that people asking for help on the forums is  reflection of Digital Storm's entire operations. We ship hundreds of systems a month, and a very small percentage that do have issues come on our forums for help. Users that are busy enjoying their system usually don't come back. Please take that into consideration.

Ok Alex, no problem, but its a shame that people who do have success with their machines don't post. You can be sure that if I buy from DS, there will be a post, GOOD OR BAD and with lots of detailed pictures. And lots of comments. It' good for your company! I've performed multiple permutations of ram sticks, and also watched ram usage in all - no apparent weakness or failure.  Does not appear to be ram to me.

Not within my competency to remove and replace/reseat liquid cooled 3x SLI cards.  wiggling is, and they appear to be seated quite well.

I've burned up most of the last 6 hours on this; and I can guess how much I'll burn up in phone support doing those things and more with DST - tomorrow I hope or if necessary Tuesday.  I'm sure it will sound immodest, but my hourly rate income could have me fly this thing back to DST X 2 and hope for repair / replace within a week quicker (surely...) and better (God be praised).  But, I'll go thru the tech support sequences one time first.

It is confirmed in another thread that DS is closed on Monday.  Customer Service won't be open until Tuesday morning.
