I'm sort of a hardware noob, so there's that.
I've had my DS system for about a month now and decided to increase the ventilation a little bit. I have a Coolermaster Elite 430 with the EVGA x58 LE board. I bought a couple of thermaltake 2000 rpm fans to stick in, and now I'm a little confused. Due to the way everything is jammed in the only place to fit an additional fan is on the side cover, so I did that and replaced the fan at the top of the case behind the cpu. That one was plugged into the motherboard, the thermaltakes have the 4 pin connectors and I'm instructed to plug them into the power supply, Fair enough. I got both fans installed and didn't see where to plug them into the PS, it's the 'DS certified' TechNPS 750 watt. I rummaged through the goodie leftover box and found a couple of the 4-pin-to-fits-in-the-PS wires. Each one has two plugs on it. I plugged both fans into the one adapter and lit it up. Only one fan worked. I then grabbed the other adapter so each fan had it's own plug into the PS. Only one fan works, whichever one is plugged into the top plug on the PS. I don't see that I have anything in the goodies box to convert the four pin plug on the fan to plug back into the motherboard like it was originally. What am I doing wrong here? TIA |

I mentioned I'm a hardware noob, didn't I?
Thanks for help I was going to get, but I had a crazy idea literally 30 seconds after posting and it worked. |

Yeah, apparently when converting from the six pin plug on PS the two 4 pin connectors don't have the same things to offer. Sticking the fan that didn't work into the other plug made her spin. Pretty elementary to you fellas I'm sure. |
