Hello everyone, I'm sure you all noticed, but, just to clarify, we added a new and innovative feature to the forums -- verified customers and official DS employee icons.

This will help ensure people on the forums know which forum members are actual employees, verified customers, and general users. Big%20Smile

P.S.
Your account will automatically be a verified customer as long as the email you used to purchase a system is the same as the email used for the forums.

Thanks Alex, although this is not working for my account, even though both emails are the same.  However, i did place my order over the phone if that makes any difference.

The reason why we added that, was to prevent confusion for customers that were wondering how they could get the verified seal.

Definitely a good idea, though I've not really seen anyone maliciously claiming to be a DS customer when they were in fact, not, Big%20Smile, but I do see the point. More so than the customer tag, I think having a clear indicator of who is actually a DS employee was the most important aspect of this update. Yes, I know you could tell before, but this one very quickly jumps out at you.

LOL now it has a 3 line story behind it also, I feel bloated now.


Alex please shrink the logo down and instead of the text under just make clicking on the logo take you to a different page with all the explanations and directions there.

This is big and ugly, at this rate I'm beginning to think I rather be unverified customer with no logo and etc.

We made the icon smaller and we included an "ALT" tag to the imge so when you mouse over it, it will show the email address matched message.

If its the length of the avatar it will stand out just fine, you can also make the color of it different to stand out more, still appreciate the fact that its not as big.

It was shrunk, but the .png is still 135px wide with part of it having a transparent background, so it looks like it is still stretching out the area left of the posts more than it should?

I wouldn't mind having it less wide, just to reduce the stretching of that left area, but that's just me. I like having the alt text a lot better, thanks for pointing that out as an idea maxyme.

As for the colors I don't have a problem with grey. But alex for the ds employee tag maybe make the background red similar to the post reply button. Just because the blue turquoise color does seem a bit out of place as there's no color like it on the page. But I do see what you were thinking with it being near the opposite end on the spectrum from red, trying to make some contrast. But red isn't used too often in the forum and I think it would feel more fitting than blue since its used as the logo color and fits with employees because of the logo.

Also dragoon are you talking about how the image is artificially offset to the left? I like it that way because it matches everything else in the left info div. Also it visually makes a border of blank space showing its seperation from the post. If the image was centered everything else would need to be to look right. That might have been the main thing wrong when it was big.

I didn't say anything about centering. There's just this weird bit of transparent background to the image that looks as if it is stretching out the left area needlessly. Here's the image highlighted to show what I mean:



I would rather the transparent part of the image removed and the left area less stretched out, like this:
