Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I am in the market for a newer pc, able to handle battlefield: bad company 2, call of duty: black ops and also battlefield 3 (medium to high settings). I will be upgrading from an AMD Phenom II X4 9250 Denab, 2x 6800gt sli, 4gb gskill ddr2. I want to go with an i7 setup with dual 580gt's. But also wanting to keep it around $3k or maybe a little less if possible. If anyone can help me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

The first question that would arise from your post is, at what resolution will you be gaming?

So you think single 580, go to the noctua cooling system and maybe upgrading another piece here or there?

I don't think SB is the second gen, but the problem was never the chip, it was with the mobo, the fixed ones are coming in but slow from what Alex said.

Ok sounds good.
Just clarifying what you said about asking for fan to be added to top. You mean the top cage fans correct? So I will get 4 of the Noctua coolers instead of 3? |

Wow boss you got some miss info, Noctua is the cpu cooler, its job is only to cool the cpu, and has nothing at all to do with adding the fan I'm talking about, the fan I'm talking about is from cooler master that makes the haf, the case comes with 1 top, 1 side, 1 front fan, there is room for another big fan on top, so that you end up with 2 top, 1 side and 1 front fan.
Hope that clears it up |

What about getting 2x640 wd sata 3 6gb/sec raid 0 instead of the 1tb drive.

the black caviar was chosen for its speeds, its got faster transfer speed then a single veloci, if you want raid, then raid 2 x 1tb black caviar, but its not needed. 1TB is a better option, you lose a drive in raid and you lose your data.

So I am getting ready to order my pc. You said to specifically ask for it so I have 4x 200mm fans. I do not see that option anywhere. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I did this only because I really want to get this ordered asap. I just need to know exactly where I am looking on the config page as to where the fans I need are |

the fan isnt something you can pick, if and when you order i would look for a spot to put notes or special instructions then call up on the phone and talk to someone or just make a config that is good to go then call and give them the number and do it over the phone

if ur going off the of the build DST has further up you would order that exactly and just tell them you want another 200mm fan added to the top of the case since it only comes with one and youll be good to go.

Ya basically tell them you want this fan added to the top:
Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the top, so you endup with 4 x 200mm fans: haf 200mm non led fan I have referred enough people to do the same thing, so I think by know as soon as you mentioned it, they know what you are talking about, just make sure it does not get mistaken with the fan upgrade option, thats not what you want. |
