Hello everyone,
I will be turning 17 this July, and I am looking into building my first computer. The only problem is that I have no idea what makes a good system. I'll admit I am a little retarted when it comes to graphic cards, processors, and other computer components. I am on Digital Storm, so obviouslly I'm looking to build a gaming system; however, I am not looking to construct a massive gaming rig that can compete with the masters of gaming. Remember I'm going on 17, and I have yet to find a job (Darn Economy)
So my question is simple: What components do you recommend I spend my money on?
Some things to keep in mind:
-I am on a limited buget
-I am only looking to play one or two games on this system
-This system is intended for playing these games, that's it. Nothing else. Maybe a few applications that will benifit my gaming experiance.
I hope these things will help you help me. Really sorry if they don't. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone...anyone?

thats gonna be tough, you need to be around $2000 so that you can get a system that is decent now yet you can upgrade for a little and make more powerfull if needed.
this is the most bare I can go, you are limited to a dual sli upgrade, otherwise you need to upgrade the psu you also, what I really would have liked is to go with 6GB of ram and 1000w psu, but like I said I went bare: here you go Ticket# 269302 --- Price: $1997 (To see this build click here) Price after current promotion $1872 Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Cooler Master HAF 932 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Interior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports Triple SLI or CrossFire) System Memory: 3GB DDR3 1333MHz Mushkin (Highly Recommended) (Digital Storm Certified) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) Card Reader: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 896MB (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Cooler Master GeminII S (Compatible With i7 Processors) Liquid Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a H20: Stage 3 Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Yes, Overclock the processor as much as possible with complete stability Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Tweak Windows: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) (For Enthusiasts) Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks LCD Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-10 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty --------------------------------------------------------- |

I would have to agree with DST here - after fiddling with a config or 2 to keep the price down to your budget, it just didn't make sense - see if you can save up a little more and go for the config above $1872 with free shipping on a DSO system that is future upgradeable is the best value.
