Hi all,

About to order from DS

Wondering about the OC on Ode2 lvl1

Computer needs to last 5 years and im concerned about an OC - never had a computer with an OC before.

Reliability is important.

Wondering if I should order the Dreadnaught and ask for no OC   -   if i go with this I would get same cpu, gpu but Sabertooth mb and 500 caviar black hd.

Thoughts

Hi 428CJ..... The oc'ing is perfectly safe and will outlast the pc.    Really no problem.   A custom build will allow you to pick your parts but will be more for same gaming performance.   Don't go custom just for no oc. Go custom for the Dreadnaughts Hafx case., better sabertooth mobo.    Stick with oc'ing.

Even if you get an ODE, its incredibly simple to take the overclock off. They leave the default settings in the BIOS.

Hi 428CJ,

The ODE-1 uses a stage 1 OC that is well within the ability of the system. Intel builds the K series CPUs so they can be OC. You would be making a mistake if you don't get the OC. There are two things that kill a CPU prematurely. Hi Vcore voltage and high heat. You don't have to worry about these problems with the stage-1 OC and your cooler and case. DS would not be in business if they were selling computers that don't last at least 5 years. Intel would not be giving us the ability to OC their CPUs if they couldn't handle it.

You have nothing to worry about.

Frank
