I ordered a Velox over the weekend and I wanted to say hello to the forum. I am anxiously awaiting for my system to come in; it’s a pretty big upgrade over my laptop. Anyone else here spend time with Elite?

Thank you. I thought about waiting on the 4070 but without knowing the cost or availability…my plan is to upgrade a component or 2 every year anyway so I can wait. I would probably want a better motherboard and processor first anyway.

That being said if I did want to change something on the build how do I do that? If overclocking and optimizing windows isn’t necessary I’ll take them off, that would give a spare 100 to go somewhere else.

If you haven’t played in a while and haven’t been following updates the game has changed significantly, some would argue for the worse. On foot combat/missions have been added and just recently the Thargoids have started an all out invasion of several systems. On foot bug bashing is probably coming at some point.

It’s been kind of buggy and optimization is still an issue for a lot of people; older systems struggle with keeping FPS up.

Not sure if I like my favorite universal exploration game turning into another combat simulator. I never played for the combat. If that is the direction they've gone in, well, I'm afraid I'm going to have to miss that bus. Thanks for letting me know.

They did add biological life forms (plant life, no animals) for discovery so there is something for explorers on foot but the majority of new stuff is geared toward combat. That’s my subjective opinion.
