Just purchased this Setup. Havent built a PC in so many years so wouldnt trust myself to put anything together now days. Would appreciate some help with this build hopefully I have a good setup Tried reading up a bit on the new specs out there but for sure made alot of mistakes with this build. Wish I posted this before buying but anyhow here it is. Feel Free to call me dumb with anything I did with this poor machine that I shouldnt have.
Also if anyone has a good 38 inch ultrawide monitor good for gaming/Workstation recommendation are appreciated. Welcome and congrats on your order. ![]() I suggest you call DS and switch the Storage set 1 to a NVM Express connected one instead of SATA which is what you have. The M.2 is only a form factor (size). If you go with Samsung go with the 980 series instead of the 970s. As to the rest, I'll let the gurus give you their opinions. Not familiar at all with AMD products. Enjoy. |

+1 on what hoserator said. The Samsung 980 is 12x faster/read and 9x faster/write than the SATA drive. it's a huge mistake at your price point. The only one you made, though.
You don't mention your primary use. If mostly to game on, you may have overshot your CPU need a bit. The extra cores won't help gaming at all, but if you have productivity needs, the 5900x is a very good proc. For gaming, the 5800X is my recommendation. Hope it helps.

Workstation monitors:
Dell U-Series 38" / 60hz / no hdr $1029 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073FHWTPL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_DRAX6SSCF4S8Q77QEJ65 LG 38WK95C-W 38-Inch Class 21:9 /HDR10/75hz/$1046 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079L4WR4T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_1KGA1TWN7BG1XN0ZM81M Gaming/workstation LG 38GL950G-B /IPS/144hz/G-sync/$1499 On sale https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZS1DZM1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Q5XSY31MHFCCY2JVKW6F 43 inch options (id it works for you) ASUS ROG Strix XG43VQ 43 /120hz/free sync 2/ $740.05!!!!! What! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082XZKQN6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_JVTVD6MPXN423RRND6CE I would do my research on the Rog strix 43 in just because I'm really worried on why it's priced so low as an Rog strix monitor also the title did have a? On the 43 I would just do research before buying that because that's a really good deal for that size and price point Know if you have the money and your you have the space to go up to 48 in this is the one that I would recommend or I would by myself. LG OLED48C1PUB 4k/120hz native/hdr/g-sync/ price was around $1300 It's out of stock just went out but something to keep an eye on if your interested. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WFK81RH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_J71M0SAFKGVBZT9VDKWC?psc=1 Budget monitor: SAMSUNG 34-Inch SJ55W / 75hz/free sync/ $380.06 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FBS36W2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_HCF1H96WXZEE3MP8DS27 |

You have an Nvidia gpu and FreeSync is for AMD. You should get a GSync or compatible monitor.

I guess I should have mentioned that. If you can find a monitor with g-sync then definitely go for that one but they are scarce. As for the compatibility I dont belive there is an issue there. Especiialy using a 3000 series GPU. All my research has concluded to me that the only tuing is that you have to manually set up the sync option on the freesync monitors. Here's a reference. https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/283261-nvidia-admits-defeat-will-support-g-sync-on-freesync-displays Let me know if I have the wrong info about this. Also I did sone research on my monitor hence why I went with the ASUS ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B which had freesync premium for my 3080. |

@Hoserator Big thank you you too you! Because of your post I went ot lok at the compatible list and turns out that the Asus monitor I ordered was not on Nvidias website. So I am returning it once it arrives. Even though Nvidia supports adaptive/free sync that was not a monitor that they supported. Yikes! I'm gonna purchase another one. Thanks again dude.

As far as monitors go I use an acer predator 35 inch with gsync. I have been loving its performance. 144hz of course.
