Hi, I am new to the forums and just purchased a new Twister Lite. I am in the market for a new LCD monitor.I am kinda torn between getting a monitor(samsung) that supports 1920x1200 res or 1680x1050? My new CPU speed is a bone stock Core 2 Q6600 with a 8800GTS 640mb video card. Im kind of a graphics nut and like to try and run all my games at the monitors native resolution. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.I figured you guys know the power of these machines and could steer me in the right direction.I play COD4,Crytek,F.E.A.R. Thanks !!!

Bang for the buck right now... 1920x1200 Monitors (some smaller screens have it, but that's the 'normal' 24" resolution) are pretty hard to pass up.
Sure, you're looking at $450-900 depending on the model, but Samsung and Dell both make quality screens that'll give you some solid performance. 1680x1050 is fine as well - but not as "forward ready" as 1920x1200. I run UT3, WoW and Witcher currently on an 8800GT 512MB and have seen adequate (though definitely not amazing) performance... I imagine the GTS should be able to hold it's own as well. --Akkim |
