If you're (planning on) using a 4K monitor and/or high quality VR, something such as:

Config #: 4524903

Based in part on:

Superb VR performance and improved DLSS | RTX 4090 vs RTX 3090 Ti in MSFS | Virtual Reality Pilot (YouTube)
• Ryzen 5600X, ROG Strix B550-I, RX 6900 XT, 32GB Vengeance, 960GB MP510
• be quiet 500DX, i7 11700K, ROG Strix Z590-E, RTX 4080 ProArt + RTX 4070 Ti ProArt, 64GB HyperX Fury, 2TB SN850

Lol pretty much a carbon copy of mine except I made a change to 2tb 980 here's why:

You can use this website to predict your power usage:

https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

I ran the numbers for you, and it says you would need 867 watts for your PSU. It sounds like your 1000 watt choice would be good.

I always go overkill on the PSU, but mainly because I'm obsessed with having a quiet machine. The more powerful PSU's tend to have lower fan speeds. However, that's not a priority for most people.

Overall, I think you have a nice build there.

MrCheetah has recommended a very high-performance build within your stated budget. The only thing that might be better for you is to wait on the 4080 to come out next month and save considerable $$ on the GPU. If you're not planning on 4K, the 4090 is overkill, but you'll want the 4080 for best results in MSFS.

The Velox is a very good case, and you'll want the 32GB of DDR5. I think the storage options are fine for a gaming rig. The 980 will boot super-fast and run Windows, apps, maintenance software, and a few games. The larger but slower 970 EVO is for your main games library where super speed won't mean as much. The CPU is all you'll need for gaming and VR for several years out.

I was going to mention but forgot. If not 4K nor the highest end VR, you could drop down to the RTX 3080 Ti comfortably.

RTX 3080 Ti + i7 12700K vs RTX 3090 + i9 12900K - Why Pay More? | Testing Games (YouTube)

Nonetheless, as mentioned, if you're willing to wait, the RTX 4080 (16GB) has next generation Tensor and RT cores that will be overall more capable for games such as MSFS.

Lastly, the upgrade to the 13900K is money better spent elsewhere. One of those is a DDR5 motherboard as DDR5 is finally beginning to progress beyond simply new adopter territory.
