Do you say that from a cost standpoint, or a performance standpoint? my original configuration had 2 GTX 680s. i like the idea of keeping things simple with one card. the GTX 690 is getting rave reviews, so i figured: why not? i appreciate the feedback. |

I would have gone with Windows 7 Profession because Home Premium only allows up to 16GB of RAM. Also I would've gone with the Coolmaster 942 HAF X case. Also I would have gone with the Vortex with the 240mm over the 120mm + Stage 2 OC.

From a performance standpoint, 2x680 would give you about the same performance as a 690, but they would be easier to cool, so you could probably OC better. 2x670 would see a huge price difference, but performance would suffer a little (probably 10-15%). I've got to say, I would ask DS if they could just do a 3x670, because you would probably get better performance with easier cooling for about the same price as a 690. As Asangard pointed out, they don't have it as a general option, but on many of their computers, a 3x680 is still an option, so you could probably contact them about the 3x670. |
